The Wanderer's Rest
The Wanderer's Rest looks like a light wind would be likely to knock it over. The slat sides showing large gaps where the boards do not meet. The door is half hanging off the hinges. The broken windows are covered with rags and paper.
This seedy inn is best known for being a gambling spot. Rumour has it is also the headquarters for the local thieves' guild. It is located on the seedier side of Caer Vonterng. The inn looks to have seen better days on the outside. Inside, however, it maintains a thick veneer of the ostenatious.
Inside the walls, door, and windows appear whole and in good repair. A thick miasma of smoke fills the room from the pipes being smoked by the patrons. You can find many forms of gambling from cards to dice. The bar stands to left of the main door. On either side of the fireplace are two doors, one leading to the kitchen and the other to a private room. A bard sits on a raised stage playing lively music for the patrons.
The smells of spilled alcohol mixing with the pipe smoke are enough to turn the stomach of any who are unprepared, or unaccustomed to it.
Purpose / Function
The Wanderer's Rest is a tavern with a common room which can be purchased for sleeping at a copper a night. Meals are not included in the price but are offered for an additional fee.
Alterations
It doesn't look like the inn has had much in the way of upkeep since it was built.
Architecture
It is a simple wooden building with a thatch roof. It was the original inn for Caer Vonterng when the town was nothing more than a small hamlet.
