Horses of Rolan

This breed of horse comes from the nation of Rolan, where they are the primary animal companions of its inhabitants and the primary method of transportation. Citizens of Rolan usually form very close bonds with their horses, often being paired up with them as children. Horses from Rolan typically have a longer lifespan than the average riding horse and so they may spend up to half a human lifetime with their Rolanian partners. They are often described as being the finest riding horses in all of Corvisia, and when it comes to traversing the large, flat and grassy plains of Rolan their speed is unmmatched. Rolanian horses use the standard stat block for a riding horse, but their movement speed is increased by 10 feet, for a total of 70 feet. They can also travel for two hours longer than the average riding horse, being able to travel for ten hours as long as only one of these hours is above a normal pace. These horses are highly sought out, even outside of Rolan, for their speed and endurance, and those with enough gold can usually find one in the capitol cities of most nations, especially where this is a lot of flat land.

These horses are usually paired with a child in Rolan shortly after being born. Because they have a longer lifespan that the average horse, they can spend as much as half a human lifetime with their humanoid partner. As a result, citizens of Rolan and their horses form close bonds, and these horses are considered a sacred animal to them. For many citizens of Rolan, their horse will become their best friend, who travels with them everywhere. Harming or mistreating a horse in Rolan is a crime with harsh consequences, with banishment being the minimum and death being the maximum.
