Nightmares seem to have the uncanny knack of knowing exactly when someone is ready for death. This is the reason they are feared by most out in the "real world".GROWTH RATE & STAGES
Nightmares grow and mature quickly. By the time they are two years of age they are capable of breeding. Most young stallions choose to leave the herd to so their wild oats amongst the horses of man. This does not create more Nightmares, but it does infect the young with a mean streak.ECOLOGY & HABITAT

There have been stories told of a midnight black coach pulled by a team of six Nightmares that answers the Baensidhe's call. Coming to collect the deceased's soul at the moment of their passing. Whether this is true or not is yet to be proven since none living can verify it.BIOLOGICAL TRAITS
These Fae look a lot like horses.AVERAGE HEIGHT
Nightmares stand fifteen to seventeen hands high at the shoulder.AVERAGE WEIGHT
Their average weight is between fifty-nine and one hundred fifty-seven stone, or three hundred eighty to one thousand kilogramsINTERSPECIES RELATIONS
Nightmare stallions don't care who or what they breed with; if it can be mounted they will. The mares on the other hand are a little more particular, and will usually choose a mate from other species they know are going to die and so wish to have a little fun. They seem to get a perverse pleasure out of bearing the child of someone who died while propegating.
