Terms for LGBTQIA+ People

Tria, 08 Lia, Year 139 Third Cycle

I, as the author, identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, but I recognize I cannot encompass every shade of the rainbow. If you are LGBTQIA+ and have any issues with the terms I have used, I welcome your critique.

In the world of Corivin, there are many groups of LGBTQIA+ people who use various terms. These terms are used by and for LGBTQIA+ people and are not considered insults nor slurs by them. The various terms used are outlined below.

    • Queencat - Feminine-Style WLW. Femme
    • Kittycat - Androgynous-Style WLW
    • Alleycat - WLW who don't identify with any particular aesthetic or style. This term is only used if specified by the individual

The terms in the Transgender section are used to designate genital type for those looking to have a sexual encounter with them without degrading the Transgender person's identity. With people who are not looking for a sexual encounter with the Transgender person, they are simply a woman, man, or enby.

Acceptance
These terms are accepted as normal language by groups all across Corivin even if the term is not used by that particular group
Animal Names
All of these terms are known normally as animal "types" and groups. They are never meant to call the LGBTQIA+ person animalistic. They are rather used thanks to the origination of these terms being from a group of LGBTQIA+ Hunters who thought that the terms were from important animals and, thus, stated the importance of LGBTQIA+ people

Well, this bisexual "kittycat" thinks this is well thought out. Many of our IRL terms, "gay," "lesbian," "enby," "trans," "queer," etc. come from slang, and many of them are reclaimed slurs. This, to me, represents a greater degree of thoughtfulness than our own world reflects. I can't speak for everyone, of course, but I approve.

Thanks for your comments. In this world, LGBTQIA+ terms are pretty well thought out and being LGBTQIA+ is more accepted, although a bit different than in the real world. Of course, there are places where it is stigmatized, but the species and cultures that this article refers to are all pretty accepting of LGBTQIA+ people.
