Layla Al-Biruni
Sheikha Layla Al-Biruni (a.k.a. The Rogue Princess)
Layla Al-Bruni is a rebellious daughter of a noble house on Dabaran who, after a rather short Navy career (due to her temperament), would now like to follow her hobby of travel & archeology. She is also looking for traces of her older sister Avazeh who was lost on an archaeological expedition (on behalf of Dr. Wana).
Layla's birth title is Atusa or "Princess" in Dabaranian or Neo-Iranian. One of her ancestors from ancient earth is the famous scholar Abu Rayhan Al Biruni: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Biruni

Check. Mic?

Check. Mic? Ah, I should filter out the hum.
What just hums very softly behind me – and just pleasantly warms my back, even through the dense Exo Suit – is a closet-sized piece of technology of completely unknown origin. Up until now it has been sending out terrible electromagnetic impulses, which has led to the crash of the ORVA-3 station and some spaceships, including my passenger ship to Kua, the Arcadian. So this damn archaeo-closet has claimed many lives, and we will have to deal with it permanently. At least we managed to disable it. But one thing after another …
On the crashed ORVA-3 station, a short fight broke out between the survivors (so far only known to us over the radio) and some wild, dog-like Nekatras. We overheard a man named Jibril using a volcano carabiner and his awkward "charm" to prevail against these critters. And some drones, remotely controlled by technician Raymond, apparently also played an important role ...
In the meantime, we had located the crawler on board the crashed Arcadian and made it ready to go. Moth drove it to the wreck of the ORVA-3 to recover the two (and as it turned out, only) survivors from there. We also collected supplies, oxygen and spare parts. This mission was so successful that we even undertook a second supply tour before we (thankfully!) survived the inevitable explosion of the station after the meltdown in safety on board the Arcadian.
Then, we drove the crawler to the sensor location in the north, where we encountered the ship Thylacine (the ship from the station logs) that had landed there, at the edge of a crater. The Tylacine was abandoned and unfortunately (apparently due to the hard EM pulses) had become completely unusable. These impulses came from somewhere in the crater, which is why we continued on foot in this direction.
There we discovered the remains of an ancient complex called Daidalos II, as it later turned out. Dead people and battle marks everywhere. The attackers, evidently a mercenary squad from the Thylacine, had blown up part of the walls of the facility and thus sentenced many of the residents to death. Still, some had been able to put on strange, lizard-like high-tech armor and offer some resistance before their deaths. I'm so thankful in such moments to have received military training ... I promise these criminals wouldn't catch me so cold.
In this facility there was a Draconite biochemistry laboratory, which was apparently captured by a rather wacky pariah of "scientists" named Dr. Enders with the help of the mercenaries. At least we believe we can reconstruct it that way. But the Draconites still had a trick up their sleeves: They activated a deadly EMP below their station (which, however, probably dates back to the times of the First Settlers), which in fact is this closet here at my back, and all hell broke loose, on and above the moon.
Fortunately, my new team members turned out to be very capable. We were able to deactivate the EMP, search the system and use cutting torches to explore various interesting corners of the station and make other wrecks in a hangar accessible.
Beneath the Daidalos complex, there is a ramified tunnel system, where we suspect the scientist and remnants of the mercenary troops. And what had the Draconites been researching? Why here? Was it so secret that you need an EMP to destroy this knowledge if necessary? And what does the drawing of a strange obelisk that we found on a table in the plant mean?
We will investigate. And descend into these eerie dark tunnels. Messenger, help us!

Check. Check. Ok.

Khamset, the 8th Day of the Month of the Messenger, Year 61
Check. OK. I don't know if I can ever take the time to listen to this recording again – but be it. Things are not going quite as expected. After successful preliminary negotiations on Awadhi, I embarked for Kua with my Ekilibri Neptik on board the "Arcadian".
Instead of being awakened from the cryo sleep with stylish music and soothing light effects at the beginning of the VIP boarding process at the Coriolis station, we found ourselves in a shattered spaceship on a crater-strewn moon surface. Even I didn't manage to achieve such a total crash landing at the time of the little incident with the "Star Panther II", respect!
A likeable, but currently clearly overwhelmed young civilian named Moth Iboq Royar brought us back from cryo sleep. Thank you. Otherwise, this would have been the end of my escape to personal freedom.
Together we explored the wreck of the Arcadian, first by checking the ship systems via the terminal, and then on foot.
Via radio contact was made with Zein, a female crew member of the Arcadian, and other survivors of the ORVAS-3 space station, which had also crashed on the moon, and who were struggling with a dangerous reactor leak.
We were able to recover four spacesuits from an almost completely burned part of the Arcadian, which involved a less than harmless operation of rescueing Zein from a room that could only be reached through a vacuum. Without Neptik's help with remote control of the door bulkhead, it would not have been so easy. Sometimes, the intelligence of the Ekilibri is almost a little scary; but I'm not complaining, at least not today – on the contrary.
We decided to initially leave the remaining Arcadian passengers in cryo sleep to save oxygen, which we will probably last only 22 hours. With the exception of Zein, the crew of the Arcadian was on the destroyed bridge and, unfortunately, as cameras show us, dead.
Our joint evaluations of the log files and sensor data result in the following situational analysis: We are stranded in the Altai system, on the moon Uzaras of the gas giant Osaras. The captain of the Arcadian had interrupted the trip to investigate a distress signal from ORVAS-3, which had been hit by unusual electromagnetic impulses that caused it to crash a little afterwards. Similar phenomena then promptly led to the Arcadian catastrophe.
One aspect from the logs of ORVAS-3 caught my attention: Shortly before the crash, the station was visited by the Thylacine, a class 3 research ship; on board supposedly: scientists and mercenaries. Even archaeologists seemed to have been on board. A very unusual combination. The electronic magnetic impulses only started a little later, after the Thylacine had left again and probably landed somewhere on the moon.
Archaeologists … Maybe I finally have a chance here to find ... her? I hardly dare hope. But we'll find the other ship. Because whatever experiments you have undertaken down there on the moon, you have a lot of human lives to anwer for.
Triangulation of the sensor data showed a long-wave signal in the north of the two wrecks. The Thylacine might have landed there.
But first to the more practical problems at hand. We have found our equipment and luggage. The power supply to the cryo chambers of the remaining passengers must be secured, we don't have enough spacesuits for everyone. We also have a crawler on board of the wreck, with which we will try to reach the crashed station and pick up the survivors there. In addition to the reactor problem, they are currently struggling with wild Nekatras on board who are threatening to eat them.
My eyes briefly wander to Neptik. Would he ever do … something similar?
Layla Out.
