Meleth (Goddess of Love and Desire)

Always depicted as beautiful woman her ethnic identity general follows whatever the dominate idea of beauty is in the region. In the north she is usually presented as being a tall, pale redhead or blond, in the spine she is pale skinned but has black hair and in the south she is shown as having light brown skin and glossy black hair. Temples of Meleth are typically located in towns and cities. They are built to be aesthetically pleasing and are typically decorated with erotic art. Priestesses of the sect are often trained as court dancers and musicians. The priestesses typically have multiple lovers, but will not marry unless they leave the official role of a priestess. They practice healing and fertility magic and avoid violence, depending on the Alyites or local authorities for protection. The sect will marry any consenting adults and are popular with eloping couples.

Over the centuries the followers of the goddess have written large amounts of literature much of which is devoted to eroticism in various forms. The most famous of these is the Book of a Thousand Pleasures and the Annals of Love. Traditionally these books are beautifully and graphically illustrated and thus very expensive. Copies of the most famous works can be found in almost any Temple of Meleth and also are purchased as prized possessions by the wealthy. The faith has also published many works on dance, which is an important part of its worship practices.
