A Feast For the Ogra

The Feast ritual is a sort of coming of age party for any young ogra who feel a lust for Yusufine flesh for the first time. Every Ogra will surely do this ritual during during their early life, as an ogra eating a yusufine is an inevitable thing. It is treated as a great honour to dine on the Yusufine for the first time, and it is treated as sacred. Even the bone-crunching brutes of the swamp respect sacrilege. It is also quite delicious.
The Ogran Killers.   There was once a group known as the Ogran Killers, and their goal was to cull the ogran race to a controllable number. They were quite sadistic and genocidal, so they were not supported by many other Yusufine. One of their strategies was to attack young ogra who haven't tasted human blood at the ritual. One way of doing this was that when the ogra are sent out to find a human, they would pretend to be scared, and they would lure the ogra into the corner, where they would then team up and kill the ogra. They were recently captured by the ogra and supposedly eaten alive. They were very dangerous people, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were human killers as well.

Components and tools

All that is needed for this ritual is a long table to fit the whole village at, a carving knife and a Yusufine or human as some call them.

Participants

Every ceremony, every ogran currently living in that Ogran settlement is highly encouraged to attend the ceremony, as everyone will get a taste of the human. The most important participants are usually the ogran settlement's leader, the young ogra that is to partake in the trial/ritual, and the partakers family. The Chief is always the one to carve the Yusufine, while the partaker always gets the first bite. If an ogra steals the first bite in one of these rituals, they will either be banished, dissowned or executed. It is seen as high disrespect and embezzlement.

Observance

The Ritual always takes place when a young ogran first feels a lust for human flesh, which is usually around their second birthday. After they feel this, they must go out on their own and attain a human. They must then bring them back dead or alive for the big feast. Some Young ogra have been killed by the humans during this ritual.   The Hunt.   In this stage of the ritual, the partaker must venture on their own with no weapons or tools, and capture a Yusufine to bring back to their settlement in time for the feast. During this part, the Yusufine always seem very unwilling, which the ogra find odd, as it is a great honour to be the first taste of a human-hungry ogran. It is always easy to find Yusufine, but it is hard to actually capture one, as they are usually equipped with weaponry to fight back. Young ogra are much more defenseless than older ogra, so many have perished during this ritual. Not much care is given to the dead of the ogran race, and if anything, the ogra are more frustrated that their numbers are down than sad for the actual dead child.
Smudge the Vegetarian.   Once, there was a strange young Ogra boy who was born. He was named Smudge. When he was a baby, he was given deer bones to gnaw on and make his teeth strong, but he refused them and gnawed on sticks instead. The when he turned one, he was awarded his first bowl of deer meat, but he refused it, and instead had a bowl of fruit that he had collected from the forest. The other ogra thought nothing of this strange behaviour, and so assumed his carnivorous taste buds would kick in by his second birthday just in time for the feast. But they didn't. Another year went by, and almost every day Smudge would skip off into the forest and collect baskets of fruit. Another year, and Smudge had started a small carrot farm in his back garden. Another year, he had attained a pet.. rabbit. 'This has gone on long enough!' boomed Smudge's father before picking up the rabbit and eating it in one foul crunch. 'You will eat a human, and that's the end of it!' That night, Smudge did not sleep. He did not sleep a wink. How could his father have done this. So that night, he ran off to live with the humans. Where he is now, one may only speculate. One must hope that he is somewhere, probably a carrot farm, with a new pet rabbit.   The Story of the Og's first meal.   This tradition was thought to have started when the Og, king of the Ogra, first got a taste of Yusufine meat. It was still the early days of life, and the Og was sick and tired of eating deer and cattle. So he got quite an outrageous idea. Instead of eating the cattle, why not try the cattle herders. Sure they seem a lot bonier and had less meat, but perhaps they make up for it in taste. So one day, he stumbled upon a farm in a field. He saw this old man sitting in a chair on the porch. He wandered over until he reached the side of the house. It was quite a small little house, as the roof was only barely up to the Og's hairy chin. He peeked around the wall at the man, before reaching his arm toward him, and picking him up. He held the man up to his face and stared him in the eyes. The man seemed terrified, though the Og did not know why. 'Why fear death,' he thought to himself, 'When your life is going towards my belly being full...' With that, he swallowed the man whole, and his green eyes lit up! What a tremendous taste! What a tremendous beautiful taste! From then on, the Yusufine were a traditional cuisine of the Ogra.
