Conlidan

Conlidan was once a magic fueled series of metropolis linked through a high speed transit system that rotated through the world. Each school of magic was governed by a magical company run by artificers and mages. The archmages were near immortal beings who constantly pushed the boundaries of magic potential. None pursued this more fiercely than Erendir of the Conjuration School. She crossed into a realm of magic with near limitless power and lost control of it. This brought about an explosion of magic that rocked the world and left it drained of any magic energies. The metropolises needed the magic to operate and as it drained from the world, panic took its place.   Wars began to rage across the planet as once allied nations turned on one another without hesitation. Each striving to suck the last dregs of precious magic ether from the other. Centuries passed and the old world slowly passed into legends of Utopian cities and limitless comforts. Now an overgrown world struggles onward as magic slowly rekindles itself.   Small pockets of civilization are scattered across the planets. Many of them use the skeletal remains of ancient world structures to house them. People make their lives each day, struggling against warlike raiders, pockets of untamed magic, and various mysteries left by the ancient world. Hope lies primarily in the scavengers, a loose alliance of peoples who delve into the ruins of the old world and retrieve things of use for settlers.
