In the exploration community, The Cartographer is usually best at, well, cartographing; They're working under the team of expedition led by the explorer, going to the unknown place in space. However, there are a few that considered be the best of the best.

Not only expert in crafting a suitable accurated planetary maps, they are also take a role of a leader on expedition mission, teaching the younglings, and in some case pilot or maintain the large, explorer ship. In other words, Cartographer Prime can be simply a one-man crew.

The Cartographer Prime are usually respected by the community. It's the DSC's most wanted, hiding them with the most pay.

Qualifications

In order to be approve in such rank, they have to be at least 10 years of cartographing experience, or somewhat be approved by DSC. Having the certification in-space piloting can also required.

Requirements

They must be the cartographer under the DSC organization and the citizen of the memeber within the Confederate States of Earth.

Duties

As the highly value titie, their job is various. Some of them become the Exploror leading the team of expedition. They commands the crews, maintaining the vessel, and sometime helping the fellow cartographers if they're boarding, to properly get the job done. cSometime they become a university teacher to gteach the next generation of cartographer, usually in their specific skills such as mathemetic and geography.

Nevertheless there are a few who choose to work alone. The amount to commission them is surely higher than the avarage cartographer, but compared to the skill they experts, it's a very reasonable as the lone job mean the more danger to overcome.

Notable Holders

For thousand years of confederation, or the DSC existence, there are several cartographer primes to be called the legend. They are known by discovering the unique systems or anomolies.

Like Gavin Bowsher, who discovered and mapped over 200 systems in his lifetime, including Pristallin and Finness.
