The Ichor Myth

Legends tell of the Ichor Crater and it's creation. Many folks say a god once plunged their staff into the planet, creating the crater. They say that it was so deep, it caused the world itself to bleed the golden blood of the gods, Ichor. From this, the town of Ichorrift was founded, safe in it's hiding far above the crater. No one is certain anymore, if this is true, as the golden ichor is not present. Instead, deep, inky black liquid has filled it. It is so dark and deep, that even in the day, you can see space reflected back at you. The crater is entirely off limits to any life. Things that enter the liquid are pulled in, and many people say it is alive.

Summary

A huge war broke out between many races of the world and humans, and a god had to step in. This god supposedly created the crater as a safe haven for their most loyal followers, so they were not lost to the war. This settlement is now Ichorrift, the floating city,

In Literature

The myth is well written about in Ichorrift, but not anywhere else.

Darker than the night, many say it comes from the things beyond gods.

You look down into the black liquid, lapping at the shore like water. You pick up a rock from nearby, and toss it in. The liquid raises up to meet the rock in the air, and it is  never seen again. You take a step back in fear.
