Madame Lesmora

The Collector of Oddities and owner of the Carnival Macabre

Madame Lesmora is the owner of a world-traveling carnival/circus that visits the edges of rebuilt society. The force with which she comes to the various outskirts towns of the world borders on that of an invading army, with her collection of well armed loyal carnies, a gallery of unique magic items, and one of a kind creatures ranging from wondrous to monstrous. The ruling powers of whatever place she visits would rather eliminate her, but few have found a way to do so.
Her collection of creatures, in particular, is a rather horrifying one for those who delve even the slightest bit into it. It seems that all of them are under some bargain with her that cost them far more than they expected. Not a single creature appears to be there of its own will. What dark magic she uses to compel those under her service to remain so is a mystery, and one that seems unable to be solved any time soon. Further, none know when her Carnival first appeared. It has only known a single owner, the Madame herself, and yet signs of its existence date back to before the Cataclysm. It's no wonder that many think she may have found some secret to immortality hidden within her collection.
Her Carnival is both feared and yet alluring. A visit from it is likely to grant a night of vices and pleasure beyond most people's imagining. But to taste it is to find an addiction with the Macabre.
