Veta Borealis
Veta Borealis (a.k.a. "Vay")
Veta was born into the massive constellation family of the Borealis. Despite having countless of siblings, she only really bonded with her younger brother Nova. Unlike the rest, Nova was always interested in doing new and exciting things. Veta was naturally a problem-solver. Nova was naturally a problem-starter. He'd hatch up ideas so far fetched and incredible and she'd put together a plan of attack. They were partners in crime, breaking rules and even exploring outside of the settlement for fun. Without Veta, Nova was aimless. Without Nova, Veta was aimless. They just kind of worked together that way.
As they reached adolescence, Veta became interested in Cherub culture. Both her and Nova were very quick to pick up Cherub, and she was excited to translate cherub texts as a part of the Polari Scholar community. She thought, with their work they may be able to bridge the gap between the species such that one day, she (and her brother) could visit Anatol together.
Her brother, unfortunately did not share her dream and instead dreamed of making it big in Meron, the biggest, most dangerous Nocturn city. His wild ideas started to get too big and dangerous- with the possibility of putting the whole constellation in danger. Nova getting fixated on the more advanced technology (and food) in Meron he was missing out on. They started to grow apart.
Everything came to a head in a massive argument where Veta refused to go along with Nova's schemes any longer, if it meant destroying their work and civilization in the process.
Nova felt helpless without her plans and hurt. He yelled at her and swore that if he brought back new technology- he'd "rub in her face" as they advanced the constellation more than her dusty old books.
One day he left without saying goodbye. And never came back.
Veta was heartbroken and felt embarrassed that she wanted to go to anatol with him in the first place.
She wants to see his face again but- if he was to return, he'd surely be bringing trouble with him so she's not even sure about that.

Nova is a risk taker and Veta plays things safe. As kids, Nova's wacky plans were a fun way for Veta to break the rules and set him apart from her many other siblings. As they grew older, their differences drove them apart more.
