Episode 4: A Bad Night's Sleep

General Summary

After escaping from the the Hoffman Institute's downtown Seattle HQ, which had been overrun with the legions of the undead, you caught a ride with Tamisra Isabell, a member of the The Hidden Order of St. Gregory.   She has offered to help find Loki and her organization's assistance in Rangarok in exchange for two items: a book and a tooth. The tooth belonged to St. Lawrence, a martyred saint, and the book is a believed-to-be-lost manuscript. Both are at present owned by a man named Waylon Reid, an old book-dealer living out his days near a place called Jordan's Crossing, about four hours drive from Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory, Canada.   You travelled to his cabin and met Everett Reid who let you know her dad lost it and went wandering off into the woods. She explained why: every night, a creature has been howling a blood-piercing howl that makes it nigh-impossible to sleep. One night he couldn't take it and left.   You spent the night and heard it. It was awful and rocked you to your cores. Everytime you woke the howls would stop and as you drifted back to sleep, up it started again. You caught sight of the creature once but not enough to make out its features and you saw its footprints as well.   The next day you set out to find it. There's a stream nearby, and tracks seem to indicate it's across the stream and further beyond.   Unable to handle the -40 degree temperature (in both celsius and farenheit), Jaxon Huntsleigh turned around, taking the snowmobile with him...   What began as a routine meetup in the Yukon has turned into a hunt for a missing man while being hunted by a deadly creature that seems to sustain itself on the fear of others. While the world slowly freezes and Loki marshals his forces, it feels like times running out.
