Grax the Whisperer

In The City of Ten Thousand Daggers, some say that information is more valuable than gold. The reality is that any given piece of information has a very specific and measurable value in coin, so long as the person who holds it can find the person who wants it. That's where the League Of Whispers comes in. They have spies and informants everywhere and it's said that nothing happens in the city without the League knowing about it. The information the league collects is available through their Oracles to anyone willing to pay the right price. One of these Oracles is Grax the Whisperer, who can be found most evenings in his private booth at The Lusty Minotaur.   Grax's manner is one of polite deference underscored by pure contempt, making it difficult for one to know whether he's being obsequious or hostile from one moment to the next. His epithet, "the Whisperer" owes as much to his raspy voice as his chosen profession. His unique vocal qualities are no doubt a result of the nasty scars that are occasionally visible when one of the scarves or high collared-shirts he's fond of wearing becomes disheveled. Aside from the scars and his usually impeccable and mildly ostentatious grooming, Grax's appearance is very average, even forgettable.   Grax keeps predictable hours every evening at the Minotaur, usually arriving with a bodyguard and one or more (likely hired) female companions who know well enough to excuse themselves when Grax is conducting business. Those seeking information can have it (or arrange for Grax to find it) for the right price, and those with information that has somehow escaped the League's notice can collect an appropriate bounty. Grax is always ready to conduct business but has very little patience for those who would waste his time.
