Lowiin

Nearly 300 years ago the Tanoine Kingdoms were involved in a series of devasting wars against each other. Aunfel Sulise was leading a small band of 9 knights to aid in battle when he was betrayed by his lover, the sorceress Aine Merethyn. He and his knights were transformed into great black lions and bound to the forest of Vithien where they became known as the Lowiin.
Today, Aine has died and free from his curse at last, Aunfel returns to his human form and has come to dwell in the great city of Sephirianne. Soon his knights slowly follow him. But it seems they are not entirely free from Aine's Curse. When they get angry or extremely emotional, they find themselves slipping back into their lion forms with a bloodlust for violence. Not only do they have to deal with this curse, they seem to inadvertently pass the curse on to those they become close to or care deeply about.
