Fungal Forests of Nyfhera
A biome found in the caverns on Nyfhera. They are usually found in damp environments, often near underground rivers. The Fungus includes many different varieties, from towering Toadstools to tiny fungal strings. The fungus often have spectacular bioluminescence that lights up the caverns holding the forests. Giant arthropods are the largest fauna and they graze on the larger fungus which also enables them to harvest the fungi bioluminesecent chemicals for their own use. The main predators are centipede-like arthropods. In the nearby rivers or pools can be found sparking jellyfish like creatures who hunt with pulses of electricity that stun anything nearby. The pulse can even be strong enough to stun creatures on the banks.
One of the fungal forests is also a part of the Fjostheim Shard of Aaru.
