Aislyn Blackheart (ICE-linn BLACK-heart)

Captain Aislyn Blackheart

This intimidating captain is the main quest giver in the Murake campaign of Cirke.   You will find her at the White Raven Pub, in the city of Sleekwach, or as many in this part of the world call it, the City of Thieves. She is the captain of the ship she owns and built, the Shadow Seeker. This ship is of medium size, large enough to hold moderate cargo, house herself, her crew, and a modest amount of passengers. At your first glance of the Seeker, it screams adventure, though perhaps to some she may seem... intimidating. The ship is a deep black in its main color, due to a special substance secret to the Hathan manufacturers who breathed life into it. The whole structure seems to be alive in some way, covered in black slime, barnacles, salt, and other various creatures. Some of these buildups are so thick, they skew the sihlouette of the ship itself, or have become so thoroughly part of its makeup that removal would risk the integrity of the Seeker. When asked, the Captain would tell you that the ship is simply protected and loved by many, and send you on your way. The pluvia sails bloated proudly on even the slightest breeze have seen better days, but are still airtight. When her crew has any sort of downtime, Aislyn makes sure repairs on the ship take top priority. They sew up holes, fix wood, metal structures, glass work and other various upkeep chores. If it weren't for her trusty crew, Captain Blackheart and the Seeker may very well not be on the planet, and they're proud to say they do their damnedest to keep the Seeker sparkling. You won't find any pests aboard, nor mutinous crew members.
Aislyn is of the Oyatare, a deep sea race of the Western nation of Hatha, and one rarely seen outside of their home country. Her stature is shorter than other races, with her standing only 5'3" and that being tall for her race, but don't let that fool you for lack of gumption or strength. Her skin is scaley smooth and teal in color, scarred black and brown in places from too long sun exposure, and is constantly damp to prevent further damage. If you were to touch it, it would spring back, and your fingers would come away... slimey, and probably tingle a bit. In places where her skin is thinner, you can see right through it to the inner workings of her organs and lean muscles. Getting to those vulnerable places may be the goal of many an adventurer, but few these days have lived to tell the tale.
As with most of her race, Aislyn does not have a nose, instead the sides of her neck have inlaid gills to breathe. This is helpful underwater, though perhaps less so on land where she still uses her mouth to breathe in the 'shitty air of all you earth-walking plebians'. Her hands and feet are webbed at the toes and fingers and a little longer than average. Her eyes are dark, as with many creatures from the depth of the ocean floor. Oyatare don't actually grow hair, but she does have several tentacles that grow from the sides and top of her head that she arranges in a hair-like fashion. Her ears are more like small fins and are pierced with two large gold hoops, each adorned with a pair of brightly colored stone beads. Her supple, scaled skin doesn't particularly work well for tattoos, but that hasn't stopped her in the past. Oddly enough, she hasn't had a tattoo done in years.
Aislyn goes by Captain Blackheart to all whom have ever had the pleasure of making her acquaintance except for two; her first mate, Heywood Rischer and her closest friend in the Sleekwach, Alice Kingsbury. Anyone else is dead. To be given the privilege of her name is a great honor. When you first meet her, Captain Blackheart is a frosty woman, and will treat you with an air of indifference. Her demeanor is tough and almost arrogant, but she is a fierce protector of her people, great and small. She typically wears fine leather coats that fall to her knees, thin shirts, and pants. If she wears shoes, they'll be heavy seaweed leather with an especially large toe box. Oyatare feet are closer to fins and are particularly wide.
