Archdruid

The Archdruid is the spiritual leader found within Ivrili'dor clans, and is the last step in the way of Druidism.

Qualifications

To qualify for the title of Archdruid, one must prove that they can, in fact, genuinely hear the Voice of Rhea, the World Tree Spirit. There is no test of sort to prove this, but lying about hearing the Voice results in a premature and sudden death, a tree growing from their bodies while they still live. It is believed that the lie is heard by Rhea and, in turn, has deemed the druid unfit and unworthy to hear her.
When a druid feels ready, they may undergo a meditation in which they attempt to connect with Rhea and commune with her. The meditation can last from a week to a month, and the druid must not be disturbed during this time.

Requirements

To become an Archdruid of the Ivrili'dor, one must complete a lifetime of studying and communing with the spirits until they can hear the Voice of Rhea. 
Typically, this is not accomplished until an Ivrili'dor has reached an advanced age, and is often regarded as an elder by the clans. It can take hundreds of years for a druid to amass enough spiritual power to be able to do so, leading to Archdruids to only be found amounts the Fayen'dor.

Appointment

If the druid survives their meditation, and can truthfully say that they have heard the Voice of Rhea, the other druids of the clan first present the new Archdruid to the clan, and adorned with a circlet made of heartwood.
For the following week, the clan celebrates with a feast - the bounty often collected while the Archdruid-to-be is in meditation - and a special wine is given to the Archdruid to represent a drink with Rhea.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

An Archdruid remains an archdruid until their death.
