The Emissary Enrichment Coalition

The Emissary Enrichment Coalition is a realm wide organization that was originally founded to promote the esteem of desirable character traits. The organization's humble beginnings occurred in the close-knit halfling community of Hollow Oak Hills. The elders of the community had found that, all too often, the youth of their village held in high regards the feats of strength performed by heroes in distant lands or on the pages of story books, while there seemed to be a worrisome lack of respect for the children's own kin. The halfling elders hoped that if they were to name representatives, common folk that would uphold and exhibit values such as wisdom, kindness, integrity, or intellect, that these emissaries would serve as role models for others in the community. And so broaches, symbolic of their titles, were ceremonially pinned to outstanding members of the community. Their esteem among the townspeople grew and the people aspired to be emissaries themselves. They acted as "every day" heroes to promote a positive atmosphere for all. The success of this small town initiative passed by word of mouth from town to town, and the idea was soon adopted across all of civilization. Soon after came a call for organization among this wide-spread phenomenon. And thus, at a gathering of Emissaries held at the capital of Ethella, the E.E.C. was officially born. To this day a self ranked hierarchy within the organization works to promote desirable characteristic traits among the commoners of their respective nations. Being an emissary is a highly sought honor that helps earn the faith and trust of others, but is accompanied by the burden of responsibility and expectations of upholding the integrity of the organization.

Structure

Grand Emissaries: Members that have earned three separate emissary titles for three separate characteristics that they have been considered to uphold. They are responsible for choosing individuals to award the honor of emissary, reporting to council meetings called by the E.E.C., and most Grand Emissaries hold responsibilities in high governmental or academic positions. Emissaries: Honored members of the E.E.C. whose responsibility it is to uphold the title of which they've been awarded (e.g. An Emissary of Wisdom must bring wisdom to the forefront of each decision they make.) They are also responsible for keeping a clean image of the E.E.C. in the public eye and acting as a role model for other citizens.
