Architecture
Located in the ship district full of narrow alleys and stone-walled homes. The street outside is crowded with a procession of beggars.
The inn is a two story building that appears half made of a retired ship. The building appears to be made from a mad man with half-timbered walls, windows in various states of repair and a plethora of mismatching furniture.
History
Constructed 97 years ago, the Drunken Whale was once a merchant vessel that traded up and down the coastline. As a side business, the captain would also provide passage to traveling adventurers. It was during one such venture that the adventuring party convinced the captain to take them deeper into the ocean to search for valuable loot from the creatures that lurk in the depths. They encountered and killed a large being “with tentacles as long as a ship and eyes as big as a man is tall.” The Drunken Whale made it all the way back to the tiny port town Breakwater when the vessel was attacked. Stories say that tentacles as thick as a house wrapped around the vessel and ripped it in half. The front half was hurled towards the shore where it landed in the middle of a local tavern and the back half was dragged beneath the waves. The owner rebuilt the tavern incorporating the ship into the new structure.
I liked the history, while short its certainly interesting. Good job setting the hooks in people. Two krakens, or did they just not finish off the first one?
