The Myth of the Blood Fungus
The stories around the blood fungus has always been tainted with the fear of the unknown. A weird plant that drew in individuals with the gift of power, only to end up twisted by that power it gives. Every tale has this within, and so few truly has a hint of what the plant was capable of. The only one with such knowledge was the Lord of Chaos who came from the realm of Chaos.
From him what can be learned is that it is a dangerous fungus that draws people in using a smell that affects their basic instinct to consume. Once the fruit of the blood fungus is consumed the user with begin to mutate for a period, developing abilities. Most who consume the fruit will lose themselves and become beastly. Though it wasn't common for the sentient life form of that realm to fall prey. It was mostly wild beast who would more likely fall prey to the fungus.
What was found was that by eating the heart of the afflicted, the eater would gain similar powers without the negative effects of eating the fruit of the fungus. This is what lead to the creation of the Blood Hunters of his world. He being a Blood Hunter himself, based on some of his own writings.
Such a fascinating fungus capable of improving anything that becomes afflicted by it. Is this something natural or supernatural. Did a god make this or was it simply by chance. -D
The Deminor and the Blood Warriors
After the creation of the Deminor people the lord of chaos would acquire some blood fungus or maybe the hearts of creatures afflicted by the blood fungus. He would then feed these to his strongest warriors to change them into walking beasts of war. Some wouldn't survive the transformation, while others would become far to beast like. Losing all sense of the warrior they use to be and simply become beast that can be unleashed on the Lords enemies.
The few who maintained their minds would become known as the Blood warriors. The perfect union of man and beast. These individuals would lead the Lord of Chaos' armies and devastate anyone foolish enough to face them. It is believed the power of shifting comes from these individuals who survived the transformation as they were capable of taking transforming from beast to man.
Blood Warriors were truly something. Capable of taking out enemies left and right. If I could gain such power I could be unstoppable. Think if an army of such warriors were around during the second decedent war. It would have been the end of the Presari empire. -D
Primal Spirits and the End of the Blood Warriors
After Talion and Zavian found the power of the inner spirits they no longer needed access to blood fungus to awaken their power. This allowed those who carried the blood of a blood warrior to call upon the power of shifting. Those few Blood Warriors left were still rather powerful compared to those empowered by Primal Spirits. Many of the Great clans can trace their blood back to a powerful blood warrior.
It May be possible to awaken the beast with the aid of the fungus. First becoming a Blood Warrior in order to awaken the primal self. If only I could get access to the fungus Everything could be different.
If only I could get some Blood Fungus then everything could be possible. Maybe their is someone I could get some help from. -D
