Nevarr's Dread

It all began like many days before it with the light peeking through the window. The sounds outside began to grow louder as more and more villagers began there day. As I awoke from my slumber, I couldn't shake this eerie feeling that has been following my for the last couple of days. The Feeling of dread caused my bones to ache as I pondered my fate.   For the last couple of days I been haunted by dreams and visions of a great disaster. Some event that would rip the skies asunder, leading to the end of the village that I call home. I have had similar dreams a nightmare back when I was child. At the time i assumed it was a nightmare of what happened in Haven that led to the death of my parents. Now I question what the nightmares truly meant and if I had those dreams before I lost my parents.   There was a knock upon my door. Soft at first, but it grew in strength as I sat at the side of my bed.   "I'm coming." I yelled as I got up off my bed a reached for my clothes to put on before heading to the door to greet my guest.   As I opened the door I was met with the smiling face of my closest and only friend Mingan ov Flowza. "Greetings birdie, I thought you should know that the early bird tends to get the worm." He said before smirking.   "Very funny." I said before opening the door wider to let him in. "What brings you here so early?" I asked as a moved to sit down so I could put my shoes on.   "Well I just wanted to check up on you after last night and make sure you were ready for today." He said as he made his way inside. Making sure to close the door behind him. "I hear Dhaigham is really proud of you and can't wait till you take part in your first ritual."   I rubbed at the bridge of my nose as I let a out sigh. "I'm not so sure I'm ready. I've been haunted by dreams that only make me fell unnerved about the ritual. What happens if I mess up?"   Mingan let out a chuckle. "I highly doubt that. I have seen you take on every challenge thrown at you. This will just be another one that you will overcome."   "Maybe you're right. I guess we better get going if we hope to get there before Dhaigham starts looking for me." I said as I grabbed my knife and slipped it in it's sheathe on my belt.   We made our way out of my hut, making sure to grab my bow and quiver as we left. Mingan closed the door behind us as I lead the way to the center of the village. We were mostly quite as we made our way. Making sure to wave at anyone we passed. There was a time when I wasn't met with smiles and cheerful greetings.   When I first came to this valley I was seen as an outsider and scab that would leech off the hard working. Even as I worked to care for myself I was treated unfairly. A child with no family treated as some beast feeding upon the livestock. Through hard work I proved myself capable of doing my part for the village. Through hard work I proved myself a hunter, capable of taking down beast far bigger than myself. Hard work that lead to me become Dhaigham's apprentice and chosen to perform the ritual of Corfs Banishmened Shivor.   "Well if it isn't the half breed." a familiar voice said causing me to look off to the side as a figure moved to block my path.   "Phelan" I said as I took in the sight of the only person to still give me trouble for being and outsider. "What is your problem now?" I asked as I rubbed at my forehead.   "Just going for a walk when I smelled the putrid scent of an abomination. Sadly when I saw my dear cousin walking with such a freak, I knew I had to come to persuade him to do otherwise."   "Seriously you still have problem with her. This is why you been failing at your training as you spend to much time stalking her trying to find something to discredit her." Mingan said before shaking his head. "When are you going to grow up from that boy from ten years?"   "Whatever, I'll let you continue down your destructive path. Just know when she brings everything crashing down. I will say I told you so. That I told everybody what she truly is. An abomination."   For a moment I wanted to hit him. To make him hurt. To suffer. A familiar rage that followed me back from when I use to live in the city of Debara. Though I have learned to reign in my rage and simply smirk at the fool standing in front of me.   "What you smirking at?"   "Just someone who is not important enough to dust my boots." I said before walking past him.
