Aubrey Wilson

The Sole Survivor

General Aubrey Juana Wilson- West (a.k.a. Charmer)

The Pre-War Vault Dweller of Vault 111, Aubrey Wilson is the 5'11, angry mama-bear incarnate out to rescue her son. She follows the Minutemen path told in the game, with only two major variations. One is that she romances Detective Nick Valentine, and the other is that she is not the one to destroy the Institute, rather she leads a hostile takeover with the Minutemen with every intention of putting the scientific discoveries of the Institute to good use. However, the SRB foils her plans by blowing themselves to smithereens.

Physical Description

  • Intelligent - good with words and written language, not so much with mechanical and technical knowledge.

Morality & Philosophy

  • Insists upon following a rule of law, but understands that laws don't always apply to every situation. Takes most things on a case by case basis, and tries to follow her own moral code and lead by example.
  • Always willing to help those in need.

  • Main motivation Post-War: to locate and protect her infant son.

  • Moderately skilled at cooking, but is arguably better at transforming the mutated meats into something more palatable than a charred-to-a crisp piece of leather.
  • Not skilled with mechanical or technical engineering, and regularly requires assistance.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes:
  • Craved Fancy Lad Snack Cakes during her pregnancy. It is rumored that this is why all Gen 3 synths have a similar craving.
  • Enjoys sunbathing during the summers when her work load is light.
  • Enjoys cuddling with her husband on cold winter nights, both Pre- and Post-war
Dislikes:
  • Dislikes anything to do with the Brotherhood of Steel, especially after Danse was exiled.
  • Dislikes most personnel in the Institute, including Shaun West.
  • Dislikes the taste of most mutated insect meat, and tries to avoid eating it as much as possible.

Virtues & Personality perks

  • Perceptive
  • Charismatic
  • Intelligent
  • Compassionate
  • Quick Thinking
  • Calm under pressure

Vices & Personality flaws

  • Physically weaker than most, relies on her charisma to talk her way out of situations.
  • Quick to trust
  • Unwilling to take killing shots more often than not when dealing with sentient beings, even if those beings are a direct threat to herself.
  • When truly angry, she can be difficult to calm down.

Personality Quirks

  • High pitched, squeaky sneeze. According to both of her husbands, it's cute.
  • Possesses an incredible singing voice, and will use it to help calm a frightened child, especially those having difficulty sleeping.

Hygiene

  • Immaculate about cleanliness - She works with Jack Sturges to create a bathing house/laundry facility for the major settlements.
  • Bathes once a day and washes her hair every three days, even while on the road.

Social

Contacts & Relations

  • Mayor Geneva of Diamond City - Aubrey maintains a polite and professional relationship with Geneva after McDonough is exposed and killed, even though Diamond City is not officially a Minuteman settlement.
  • Mayor Hancock of Goodneighbor - Aubrey maintains a good friendship with Mayor Hancock. She's helped him with several 'off the books' tasks in Goodneighbor, and even has an apartment to her name, although it's mostly used by Dr. Amari and Agent Deacon as a Railroad safehouse. She doesn't approve of his drug habit, but they've reached an 'agree-to-disagree' sentiment.
  • Elder Arthur Maxson of the E.C. Brotherhood of Steel - Aubrey has a strained but civil relationship with Elder Maxson. She absolutely does not like him, and thinks that he is far too young to be leading an army or nation or both. Her respect for the Elder dropped even lower after he ordered the then-Paladin Danse's execution. After the Commonwealth Faction War, she negotiates and signs a non-aggression pact with him to keep their respective foot soldiers from opening fire on one another.
  • Desdemona of the Railroad - Aubrey maintains a polite and professional relationship with Desdemona after the Commonwealth Faction War. She doesn't see eye-to-eye with many of Desdemona's choices regarding the direction the Railroad will take, but maintains her position as an agent for them to help the remaining synths find safe homes after the destruction of the Institute. When the Railroad eventually disbands, the two lose contact.

Family Ties

  • Naomi Alvarez-Diaz Wilson (deceased) - Mother
  • Daniel Oliver Wilson (deceased) - Father
  • Anthony "Tony" Wilson (presumed deceased) - Older Brother
  • Diego "Dee" Wilson (presumed deceased) - Nephew
  • Tabitha "Tabbi" Wilson - Niece (unknown to her)
  • Nathan West (deceased) - First Husband
  • Shaun West (deceased) - Biological Son
  • Logan Saul Danse - Adopted Brother
  • Shaun Wilson - Adopted Son
  • Nick Valentine - Second Husband

Religious Views

Gnostic - there's definitely some sort of Higher Power, but she won't put a name to it.

Social Aptitude

  • Extremely charismatic.
  • Very confident and able to stand her ground when under pressure by opposing organizations.
  • Ego has found a happy medium; she's confident in her abilities, but can also accept criticisms and takes feedback well. Knows when to ask for help.
  • While introverted by nature, she's managed to put on a facade of extroversion when necessary, but likes to recharge alone or in the company of her husband.
  • Her etiquette can vary wildly depending on the situation, but she holds herself to a high standard and tries not to let others drag her down. This goes out the window when children are in danger, however.

Mannerisms

  • Talks with her hands (literally in some cases where sign language is needed)
  • Will arch her left eyebrow when she doesn't believe someone's story.
  • Has perfected the "Mom Glare"

Hobbies & Pets

Pets:
  • Dogmeat - A German Shepard that bonded with her shortly after she was released from Vault 111
  • Fleetfoot Mac - Her personal "Sleipnir" Horse.
  • Various "alley cats" that live in and around Sanctuary Hills

Hobbies:
  • Singing
  • Sewing
  • Reading
  • Cooking

Speech

  • Swears like a sailor when angry, but in normal speech she rarely swears.
  • Has a very dry, deadpan sense of humor. Very sarcastic when annoyed
  • Tends to keep her voice steady in normal speech. It's difficult to tell her emotions from voice alone if unfamiliar with her personality.
  • Speaks with a "generic" American accent, but occasionally the 'Southern' accent will slip through if she's tired or angry.
  • Singing range is Soprano II to Tenor I, with her most comfortable range being Alto II.

Wealth & Financial state

Aubrey came from a family whose financial situation was perpetually less-than-ideal. Her father was an alcoholic, and his substance abuse grew in combination with his depression after the death of his wife. That being said, he was never cruel to his children and always made sure they were kept fed and clean and healthy. By the time she graduated high school, she had a small savings to her name, as well as a few government grants to help see her through college.   During her time in the military, she was able to amass some more savings as the majority of her needs for food, housing, and medical care were taken care of by the military. She received a healthy cash bonus for her assistance in closing out the 'Psycho Soldiers" case.   When she resigns and begins working with the theater troupe, she has enough funds to last her for several years, between what she's saved and her husband's military pension, to the point where neither of them find an issue with purchasing their robotic butler, Codsworth. The birth of her first child, Shaun, did throw a bit of a wrench into the works, and by the time Shaun is 4 months old, both she and Nathan would have been searching for jobs had the apocalypse not happened.   After the Great War, Aubrey's first several months find her decidedly poor. She finds herself facing true food insecurity for the first time in her life during the winter of 2287. But eventually, through acts of kindness and goodwill, she eventually begins to amass favors from the various Wastelanders. The closest she comes to having a true income again is the brief time she's a member of the Brotherhood of Steel, but mostly uses the funds she received during that time to purchase property in Diamond City.   By the end of the Commonwealth Faction War, she's rather well off compared to most Wastelanders. She's healthy, has a multitude of friends, has a safe place to live, and isn't worried about being able to feed her children.
