Valley of the Radiant
For millennia this valley, adorned with mountain-high statues and frescos, has been a monument to imperial endurance and superiority. Stretching from the Caustic Seas to the Tomb of Zeon, nestled into the Hiatisk Mountains, this valley is not of completely natural origin but was instead formed by the cataclysmic events that shaped the planet's past. Due to it's immense religious importance, massive amounts of pilgrims from all over the sector regularly visit the valley.
Purpose / Function
From the first small statues to the valley-spanning monument that this place has become, it was always meant as a location to remember and honour the past. As the Imperium has become more and more spiritualistic, so have the newly build additions shifted their focus to religious imagery. Since the Age of Apostasy, the rich and mighty have started building domiciles between the artworks, basking in the name-giving radiant sunshine.
Alterations
As everything in the Imperium, this collection of monuments too has been under the scrutinisation of the Emperors holy Inquisition. In the long millennia since the first piece of art has been finished, it is said that every single one has been censored and modified at least once. The most notable change made, is the removal of the original statues of Zeon's sacrifice, being replaced by Ecclesiarchy-approved versions.
Sometime in M34, a local environmental control system has been installed between the Hiatisk Mountains. It was bestowed by the Mechanicus of Arcturia and gives life to the whole valley, it's influence stronger the deeper one travels towards the Tomb of Zeon.
