Arcturian Purge
When the future Excubitor Chapter arrived in the Arctur-System, the combined loyalist forces started a desperate push to close ranks. After the immediate danger to Arcturia was banished, the focus of the newly forged alliance shifted to the orbital Dens stations, whose reconquest was essential to secure the much needed production capacities for maintaining a foothold in this sector. Another reason for immediate action was the battle barge currently under construction in the shipyards, a valuable asset and base for future operations. The ensuing rapid incursion operations pushed the capabilities of the Vanguard Demi-Company to its limits but proved essential in giving the Battle Companies enough time to strike using more traditional methods.
The Conflict
Prelude
Even during the time of Iconoclast supremacy, the remaining imperial strongholds and scattered forces performed hit-and-run attacks against the occupants and their traitorous allies. This weakened the comparatively spread out Iconoclasts, whose main objective was looting as much invaluable equipment as possible and not thoroughly securing the system.
Deployment
The Excubitors technically deployed into the warzone with their translation into realspace on the edge of the system. Practically, the few heretic voidships concentrated around Arcturia, which would be reached without anything more than a few skirmishes. There, the combatants would actually engage.
Battlefield
The campaign was fought not only in the void above Arcturia, but on the planet itself as well as it's orbital Dens-stations.
