Arctur-System
This system is the epicenter of all Adeptus Mechanicus operations in the Umbra-Sector . It's planets are almost all used exclusively for mining and resource acquisition.
Geography
The system can be roughly divided into the two inner and two outer planetoids, which are divided by the Terminus Belt.
The innermost planet is a Mining World, it's surface is ravaged by machinery that rips it apart one city-sized chunk after another. Even the atmosphere has been stripped to fuel geo-engineering project across the sector, which leaves this planet to be a volcanic hellscape.
As the second, but most important planet, the Forgeworld Arcturia is the capital of the system. Covered in an endless desert, sometimes disrupted by sludge-lakes and scrap-wastes, no noteworthy ecosystem exists.
Excluded from the protective barrier of the asteroid belt, the gas giant Arctur Tertius ploughs through the void, along with it's retinue of orbital facilities. Being a gas giant, it's actual surface is inaccessible and the immense pressure would kill anyone who would be foolish enough to try and reach it.
The outermost celestial body big enough to count as a planet is Arctur Quartus, a small frozen world on an eccentric orbit around the system's star.

Natural Resources
Although this system doesn't feature many planets, the celestial bodies orbiting the system's star are quite resource-rich. The three solid planets and their moons possess mineral deposits and often even breathable atmosphere. Additionally the Terminus Belt is mainly composed of metal asteroids which were mined since the Mechanicum first settled in this system. The outermost planet of the system is a blueish gas giant, orbited by four moons, which is a rich source of reactor fuel.
History
This system was one of the last ones of this sector to be explored during the Great Crusade in 858.M30. It was marked for future colonisation but this was not realised until after the turmoil of the Horus Heresy and the Great Scouring, when a small Explorator Fleet established the first official imperial outpost on Arctur Secundus.
