Finale - The Death of Gromherjek
General Summary
The battle immediately began on the summit, with the dragon spewing his poisonous breath at the adventurers and nearly killing John. In his winged form Uhtric struck against the dragon using his blade Pendragon while Eogun tried to catch up to the beast, throwing his axe at the monster. Nilrem supported the adventurers by healing them. Caoimhe used her druidic magic to attack the dragon with a thunderstorm that grew above them, striking him with terrible lightning. Ardor, meanwhile, blasted the dragon with his fiery spells and forced the dragon to Irrestiably Dance as he tried to kill the adventurers.
However, it was the sword of Uhtric that ultimately killed the ancient dragon. With his smite, Uhtric beheaded the dragon Gromherjek, ending the terrible threat towards Albion. When the dragon laid dead, the wind whispered a terrible curse to Gromherjek.
With the death of the dragon, his soul passed to the dominion of Tiamat. His soul never reunited with his lost sons and bride. Instead he was tormented for eternity for being a cannibal and for failing Tiamat. Thus was the end of his evil. But he would be remembered by the Albions and eventual Lysandans as the greatest threat to their nation, and because of his actions, they remained vigilant against the dragons.
When a thousand years passed during the reign of Dariah the Half-Dwarven, the curse against Gromherjek and the dragons faded, and an ancient dragon attacked Kirkwall. With the dynasties of Ebenwald strong in her blood, Queen Dariah wisdom led to the dragons being driven away, and her great grandson Mortimer the Great of the House of Ebenwald-Oncett protected the lands of Lysandus during the Second Dragon Crisis with his knights, the Dragonblazers.
And thus ends another Chronicle of Talamh, my faithful readers. That was how the nation of Ebenwald began, and from this day, it remains strong under the families of Uhtric and Eogun. It would seem that Vivian never turned her eyes away from the Children of Keller. But alas, that is the end of my tale, and now I shall retire. But where shall you be when another Chronicle of Talamh is written?
"For a thousand years, no dragon will become as aged and fat as you within the lands of Eiren!”
The adventurers knew the Lady of the Lake was on their side in the battle, and with the dragon slain on the top of Mt. Magus, they had finally put the conflict to an end. The dragons surrounding the mountain in antipation fled. The adventurers stripped the body of Gromherjek for treasures, and then came down the mountain to recover the exhausted Mages Odmund and Maro. After a week of resting, Maro proclaimed to Ardor that he saved the university, and then used the Wish spell to restore the old town of Mywick.
The Hand of Fate over the Adventurers
Uhtric 'the Giantslayer' Ebenwald
The following week the peoples of Albion, hearing Mywick had been restored, returned to the old city, including the remaining Petty Kings. There, Uhtric took upon his role as the High King, being crowned by the Arch-Druid Nilrem, and the wittan of the kings bowed before the authority of Uhtric and his blade Pendragon. He was crowned at the end of Midwinten, bringing a new age to the peoples of Albion. Shortly afterward, Uhtric returned to his half-elf love, Aethelflaed, who would marry him and be crowned as his queen. Uhtric was remembered as a strong High King. Though mistakes did come his way, and this was a duty he once feared, the people of Albion remained strong. Under his leadership, Uhtric formed the Knights of the Round Table, allowing his fellow adventurers to be his knights and advisors. Uhtric repelled further Danen attacks, and made good peace with the dwarves of the north. But never again in his lifetime of 130 years did the lands of Albion face such a tremendous threat. Unfortunately, like all mortals, he too had to pass. Aethelflaed his half-elf wife mourned for your death, as she naturally outlived him. But as Aasimar, his soul returned to the heavens whence it came, fulfilling his divine task from Vivian of which he was born. Through her trickery once again did the race of men not fall to dragons, and it would be that way forevermore. History would remember Uhtric Giantslayer, and from his line came great leaders such as Aethel the Stonewilled and Dariah the Half-Dwarven, who would see the return of Gromherjek’s curse, ultimately defeated, and unite the lands of Albion and Keller into the Kingdom of Lysandus, the most powerful nation in all of Eiren. But those times would have to come later…Eogun MacOncett
Eogun returned to Mywick with great honors and wealth as a knight. Once, his house of Oncett was forgotten. Yet Uhtric granted him land for his loyalty. He went into the chronicles as “Eogun the Giant”, and would be remembered as one of the greatest knights in all of Eiren. He was known as the First of the Knights of the Round Table. The dynasty of Oncett grew from his handiwork. Vivian blessed Eogun's kin, leading them to be vessels of her handiwork in the lands. Though Eogun did not know of it, his descendants would return back to the northlands of Keller. From there, his great grandson, Fergus Oncett, became Lord of Orwood. The Oncett dynasty would overtake the peoples of Keller, soon becoming elected as their kings within the next hundreds of years in times of struggle. And from a thousand years from now, his descendant Mortimer Oncett would marry Dariah the Half-Dwarven, uniting Eogun's house and Uhtric’s. The Kingdoms of Keller and Albion united, forming into the Kingdom of Lysandus, uniting the Kellerite peoples once and for all.Ardor Pelota
With his family’s library restored, Ardor continued to help his mother, father and brother with research, united once again. Ardor made greater research into elementals, eventually finding himsself as an explorer of the elemental plane. From this, Ardor saw a creature you had never seen before: genies, as well as portals to different places to travel around in Talamh. Yet as an elf, Ardor saw his parents and brother die before you, as well as the arch-mage and vice-mage. It grew hard on him, knowing that his human family had to pass away, but he had the comfort of his brother’s children and grandchildren. Evidently, in Ardor's middle years, he would be elected Arch-Mage of Cemedri Magicus, remembered for his role in saving the university from Gromherjek’s grip, and helped rebuild it with many students. But Ardor never stopped his research into elementals, traveling around Talamh on extended vacations to further his research. The wanderlust of Amagus inspired him to do so…John Harvard-Heming
John's fate was much different. He began to disappear from history, and his cohorts did not see him again months after the defeat of Gromherjek. John went west, into the elf lands of Gaelitia, and found a throne in the Shadow of the Mountain. There John stayed, eventually losing his identity as John. But he did not seem to care… He was now Bghonah, Lord of the Unseelie. Yet, unlike the previous Bghonah, his good side seemed to grow a grasp upon his personality. Sure, he had the desire to trick and fool mortals, but it was never anything quite malevolent as his predecessor. It was innocent fun, often for the kicks. And he wouldn’t want it any other way!Caoimhe Kirkpatrick
As the lands of Albion begin to flourish, Caoimhe continued her quest for history and culture. She worked with Pontius of Silver Town to continue the Albion Chronicle over the next decade. Yet something eluded her. She searched for John, and he never returned. She always wondered where the tricky cleric had gone, but never found the right answer. But something in her mind told her that he went with the fey… When Caoimhe's father passed away, she became the next Arch-Druid of Kirkwall, making good communication with the Treants and protecting Kirkwood from the threats that may face it. Including Bghonah, who would proceed to play tricks on the people of the forests that Caoimhe would often have to dispel and deal with. But it never seemed malevolent, as if the arch-fey was teasing her. Nilrem also advised her, strangely growing slightly younger over time as Caoimhe grew older. The tiefling druid was strange to her, yet helped her paths as she grew into an old woman, and thanks to her druid magic, she lived many years beyond your human peers. She became a shepherd over the forests of Kirkwood, and none but Bghonah would test her temper! The Hand of Fate Guided Others...
Cydric the Black
Uhtric led the path of redemption for Cydric, forming him into becoming the second of the Knights of the Round Table (after Eogun), going down the path of an Oath of Redemption. He served as a general and advisor for Uhtric for many years, fighting off Danen raids in the northern borders.Nilrem
The druid Nilrem continued his mysterious paths, growing younger and younger over time, but slowly. He had a hand in advising Uhtric and the rest of the adventurers in their paths of leadership.Gilmore Rufusender
Gilmore quickly grew into a man in the early days of Uhtric’s reign, and followed the footsteps of his uncle Aethelred. Though he was a bit bratty in his younger years, the knight Roderick corrected his ways, and Gilmore became a competent and good ruler, if not a bit arrogant. He was tasked to rebuild Feller’s Rock, and restored the Rock of Fell, though purposefully left the marks of Gromherjek. Upon the stone he left this message:“Remember the folly of the dragon Gromherjek, who destroyed this stone and led to his own doom.”
Morgainne
Morgainne’s corpse disappeared after the defeat of Gromherjek. Little did any of you know, she had discovered the secret of Lichdom before her battle at Cemedri Magicus. Her soul returned to her phylactery for the first time, and she awoke within a castle in the Northern Dragonscale mountains as a lich. Yet never again did she trouble the peoples of Keller or Albion, instead asserting control over the Danes who served her, and submitting to the last Lich-King, Koschei of the North.Qenlynn Millerstone
Qenlynn’s soul passed back into the hells for her evil, but no longer as an abishai. She was subjected to the eternal torment she long deserved, for thrice trying to destroy the peoples of Lysandus.Gromherjek

Harold Ebenwald
Harold Ebenwald lived in prison for a few good years, but it was ultimately Uhtric’s decision on what to do with his traitorous brother. He tried to redeem Harold, but Harold had too much sprite for Uhtric. Before the day of his release, Harold was found dead, under mysterious circumstances, but Uhtric knew it was not from Harold’s own hand.
