Chapter 5 - The Fires of Battle

General Summary

After getting up from a devastating attack, the party manage to revive each other. Before they could escape, however, Lady Qenlynn placed a fiery wall toward the exit, trapping them. Then, Sir Edward was sent downward toward them to finish them off. As the fire burned down parts of the citadel Sir Edward prepared his men. Wulfric stood by the door, ready to attack anyone coming out. Wulfric attacked a minion, and Sir Edward ran out into battle, throwing around his maul and attempting to kill Teq. Riley came to Teq's protection, and his presence led to Sir Edward getting into a strange bout of sneezing. As Gilliam dealt with some of the armed guards, Sir Edward would pick off Riley. Wulfric's ferocity would be deal a critical blow to Sir Edward. Then, he was slain by the wizard Slytoff with a scorching ray.   Riley would be waken up by Slytoff. The Lady of the Lake told him the rosemary was a small key to their victory. The fire inched closer. Teq went to Amagus for answers, and the god recommended him to go to the stone tower of the citadel. The party followed, reaching to the top and avoiding the growing flames. There, they found Lady Qenlynn's room. Gilliam raided it's chest, finding an Immovable Rod and a Mace of Light, as well as several books, potions, and a magic mirror. Wulfric would strip the bed in there of it's pillow and sheets as well as take other trinkets. Slytoff was interested in the magic mirror, asking it plenty of questions. He was not content with it's answer on who the most powerful wizard was.   Using a teleportation circle in the room, the party took the mirror and other loot and managed to teleport to the magic store called "Grace's Wonders". There, they tried to get an appraisal for the magic mirror. However, they did not like her prices and were insulted by her reasoning for spendy items. They went to the Silver Chalice Inn to plan their next move: they would stage a heist to get back their money and perhaps steal some items.   After planning, they went to Lord Foswell with the head of Sir Edward, and demanded more gold to sell him information. Lord Foswell reluctantly complied, and got information with them. He then gave the party symbols of the Southern Star to show their status across Lysandus.

The Party

Riley Woodhame: Riley Woodhame, human fighter and warlock, is a member of the Hearthstars (an organization based on gathering information under Amagus' teachings). His search for power and knowledge led him to find the Lady of the Lake, giving him an inkling of control over his own fate.
"The Amazing" Slytoff Han: Slytoff Han is a magician! A gnome wizard, he seeks to find funding to create a magic show and has traveled around County Ellis to show off his skills for potential audiences.
Wulfric Cisboren: Wulfric is a human fighter, who hails from Obesfeld, and a former housecarl. He appears to be a man of the north, covered in furs. Recently he has been talking more in a Norden accent, and has been behaving more like the Dwarves of North in his fighting style.
Gilliam Wulfstan Maydestone: Gilliam is an aakocra swashbuckler, as well as an urchin that grew up in the city of Ebenwald. With his skills with the blade, he seeks higher up contracts to fill his pockets.
Tequila "Teq" Cambow: Teq is a cleric of Amagus, devoting his life and services to the god. He was introduced to the party by the local bishop of Silver Town, searching for field experience and for building his faith.

Rewards Granted

After defeating Sir Edward, they managed to raid Urshlon Tower and gathered a loot from the treasure boxes: 200 gold pieces, moonstone, other gems, an Immovable Rod, a Mace of Light, one Potion of Heroism, and two Potions of Healing. They would collect two strange books, one in Elvish and one in Abyssal.   Afterwords, they collected 1,200 gold pieces from Lord Foswell for the head of Sir Edward, defeating many Black Knights, and for vying information. They are quite loaded.

Character(s) interacted with

Seldwig Lightfoot: A halfling ranger, he is a self-proclaimed forester of Lysandus. He is not the most competent character, but he knows the landscape well. He is admitted to being a former Black Knight, abandoning their cause because he did not trust Qenlynn Millerstone and as such wishes to see them driven away from the forest of Caleah. He was eventually chased after by Silver Town guards after they recognized his face.   Sir Edward: Sir Edward was a human knight. Though skilled with his maul, he was quite cocky and tried to be dashing. He had an allergy to rosemary, which proved to be his downfall in his fateful battle.   Grace: Grace was a human magic shop owner. She owned "Grace's Miracles" which had some hefty prices for their goods. Though she tried to be reasonable, the party did not like her logic.
