Emperor Temar Telann

Temar Telann is a Maro and the Emperor (and namesake) of the Temari Empire. A practiced warrior and brilliant tactician, he united the disparate maro tribes of the Outfair Ocean into a single, unified empire and maintains that empire with a fist of steel.

Personal history

Born a relative nobody in a small tribe of Maro, Temar Telann became a hunter first, then a warrior. He grew in skill among his tribe, defending against and raiding neighboring tribes. He found himself looking beyond the tribe, toward conquering the tribes in his region. Putting together a group of the best warriors in the tribe, he began raids not aimed at taking, but at subjugation.
His tactics were ruthless but effective, and before long the tribes in the region were subjugated. Temar did not stop there, gathering warriors from the tribes he had conquered to bolster his numbers and setting out further, conquering more and more tribes until the entire Outfair Ocean had fallen under his fin, only the changing currents and temperatures stopping his advance. Satisfied, he returned to his home and built upon it a grand capital, naming his empire Temari and his fortress city Temariel.
Temar only rested for a short time, however, before his eyes fell to the Cecaelia cities in the rocky shelves leading to dry land. It was not without great loss that they were subjugated, and brought into the empire's ranks. With their strong warrior spirits and mighty forms, they proved essential is taking on the Atollan who strayed too deep, learning of the presence of greater settlements on the surface. Rather than attacking these settlements, he sent the Atollan among them, gathering up their knowledge and using it to enrich his great empire.
The greatest secret to find its way to him, however, was from a dark cecaelian witch: the secret to ageless immortality.

Education

Temar was not an educated man, not at first. With his conquering of the various Maro tribes, he found himself taking on more information from them, and began learning what the surface races had to offer, spreading magic among his most trusted, to be passed down to the ones they trusted, and so on, all under his control.
While Temar is not capable of magic himself, he respects its ability and the potential for use in warfare.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Temar's proudest accomplishment is the unification of the Maro tribes.

Failures & Embarrassments

Mari's greatest embarassment however, is the loss of the Ashamari Dominion. While he has signed a peace accord with the fledgling nation and portrays it as something he now encourages, he privately seeths at the disrespect shown to him and his great empire. He plans to retake it, and is willing to allow time to pass for the Dominion to grow complacent.

Temar is a man without morals. He is willing to do what he must to keep his power, and to keep his empire intact.
