Fell Hollow

Fell Hollow is a small village in the northern Aiecore valley. Named for the wide dell the settlement occupies, Fell Hollow is a collection of twenty small, one-story buildings built around a central well.
Funny story, that. They say the first person to find Fell's Hollow named it after the fact that he quite literally fell into the place. There was a thicket of brambles up on the hillside there, and he missed a step, fell through everything until he landed here, just a bloody and battered mess.

Demographics

With only Forty-five people in the village, the bulk of the population (93%) is Human. A single Golenti calls the village home, as do a pair of Nuaan siblings.   80% Human (Southern Fiereni) (36)
13% Human (Norten Fiereni) (6)
0.4% Nuaan (2)
0.2% Golenti (1)

Government

The village is run by an elected Mayor, who acts on the settlement's behalf in governmental affairs and, due to the village's remote location, also acts as the judiciary in civil matters.

Infrastructure

A stone well reaches down to the shallow aquifer which provides ample water for the village's needs. Each home has a small plot of land for growing its own crops, and a small windmill sits atop the eastern ridge, incorporated into the miller's home.   A simple dirt road, barely wide enough for a wagon, provides access into the dell. In wetter months, when the road turns to mud, the villagers install a latticework of wood planks over the road to allow continued access.

Tourism

No one comes to Fell's Hollow unless they are looking to escape something. Picture the furthest you can get from civilization, then go further. That's when you're almost here.
With the exception of those who come to plumb the depths of the nearby Wildwood, there are few who deliberately seek out Fell's Hollow. The village does little trade with the outside world and generally pays so little in taxes that it is just a line item on a treasurer's ledger in the Marquessa's court.   With no tourism to speak of, there are no inns or taverns. Explorers of the Wildwood tend to either make camp on the outskirts of the village or barter for shelter with the locals.

Geography

The dell surrounding Fell's Hollow is wreathed in oak and pine trees, below which grow masses of blackberry vines and nettles. A number of springs in the region mean the ground is saturated almost year-round, providing for lush growing conditions and thick mist.   To the north of Fell's Hollow lies the southernmost edge of the Wildwood, a pine forest infested with giant spiders, ettercaps, and other aberrations.
