Personal history

She grew up in a pretty normal and incredibly boring town in Nigeria, with a very traditional family. At school she was an underachiever compared to her siblings, and the pressure put on her to do better eventually led her to take up smoking.

She also didn't have any friends due to her being pretty weird, and her parents didn't approve of her being into things like rock music, videogames and anime, the latter of which she especially liked because of how characters always seemed able to freely express themselves regardless of how weird or unusual they were.

She was into plenty of other music besides rock, such as whatever the fuck Gorillaz is classed as. She wrote pretty interesting (and insanely edgy) songs, too.

She found it hypocritical that her parents didn't care about her older brother, who was also her best friend (yep, her social life is that sad), being into that stuff as well, especially when they explicitly said that it was different when a girl was into "masculine" things.

NOTE: Yes, there are plenty of very feminine anime, but firstly these are out-of-touch middle-class Christian parents in a quiet town we're talking about here and secondly she didn't really watch many feminine anime anyway. She was watching Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer - sorry Naruto, Bleach and One Piece fans, she stopped watching all 3 of those pretty quick cos she's got that Gen Z attention span and can't handle filler.

She became a brilliant guitarist, and liked singing too. Thanks to all that smoking, regular screaming matches with her parents and rarely opening her mouth except to eat, yell at parents and sing, she developed an... interesting voice.

When she was 17, she left for Abuja, Nigeria's capital, and joined a band as a backup singer. She was fired from the band for trying to "worm her way in" to the inner circle of the main musicians and manager when she wanted to be credited as having helped write a song that made the band a shitload of money... cos it was literally a song she wrote when she was 15 that she showed the band's inner circle to ask if they thought it was good.

This also led to her becoming homeless, as she was living in the attic of one of the female band members who kicked her out.

That same day, the aliens crash-landed in South Africa. Her dad and older brother were both conscripted, and her dad died during the first human-alien battle. Her brother deserted, sneaking aboard a refugee ship to India and then getting a guy to let him use their computer so he could message her and the rest of the family to let them know he was alive. The internet was slow in Nigeria due to the satellites being fucked by the alien crash-landing, but it wasn't far South enough for it to be completely gone.

When the aliens announced that they only wanted Africa, Adaoma was the only one of her family left in Africa as her mum and other siblings left to the UK.

Adaoma, meanwhile, wasn't able to get out of Africa because she couldn't afford the tickets. The prices were hiked up, and she was unemployed and had been homeless for a month. In that time she was a street performer, using the same guitar from her teen years, but that was really just about enough for her to half-feed herself while living under a tarp and sneaking onto public buses to charge her phone.

She went to a ghost town, one that had been completely abandoned by people leaving the country, and lived there as a squatter. She turned a home that resembled her old one into her personal abode, living off of the remaining food she'd looted from the local supermarket and treating the rest of the town like a personal playground.

Her brother came back from India, along with a cat, and joined her in the town. They hid anything valuable they could find so that looters wouldn't take them, and vibed together in their little concrete grove. He was initially there to bring her to the UK with him, but the aliens had stopped expanding their territory when they had Southern Africa and it seemed like they were actually gonna settle for that if it was all they needed to feed their colonists.

So anyway, a gang of alien slavers passed through and noticed that there were people in the town. They scoured the buildings and, despite Adaoma and her brother hiding in the basement, found the fun siblings.

Adaoma's brother died of a heart attack when he was hit with several sticky shock bullets (sticks to you, electrically shocks you), and Adaoma was beaten up and taken in their stolen caravan (the aliens were in multiple vehicles, she was in the caravan). Adaoma's brother dying from the shock was largely because he had some congenital heart problems, so it wasn't deliberate, but the aliens still kinda didn't give a shit about killing someone.

For biting a chunk out of the face of the alien who'd shot her brother in emotion-fueled revenge, all of her teeth were ripped out. No anesthetic.

Then the caravan crashed into a building in an empty town. The driver, a human who'd actually been working for the aliens, passed out because the aliens had made him take drugs so he could keep driving longer. Adaoma, by the ultimate luck, found her legs freed, although one of her ankles was cut open with visible bone, and was able to disarm the first alien to go into the caravan and hold them hostage.

Problem: the other aliens didn't give a shit about the one she was holding hostage. They shot at her, her managing to avoid electric sticky bullets while her hostage got shocked to death.

Somehow, she came out on top of the shootout. Luck, the slavers having shitty aim or the fact that Adaoma's size meant she could be hit with more shock bullets without being incapacitated than the aliens (plus the fact that she was severely dehydrated so her body didn't conduct electricity as easily), probably all of those, let her win.

She ripped the teeth out of them, including the ones that weren't dead but merely incapacitated, and kept them. She took one of their vehicles, loaded everything she could onto it - including some extremely valuable jewelry the aliens had looted, and went to Abuja by car.

She got alien teeth, 2 from each alien she killed, plus 2 extra from the one she'd bitten a load of the face off of, implanted into her gums in place of front teeth and canines, but got artificial teeth to replace her molars, and used the jewelry to pay for this.

She went right into alien territory with these teeth and began playing her music, initially at the slums and camps that humans were being "temporarily" forced into so that aliens could live in their homes, and there gathered some other young adults for her band, consisting of herself, 18, and 4 others, aged 16, 17, 17 and 18.

After learning that she could sell bits of human media to aliens for quite a lot (albeit illegally), she and her band started playing in front of aliens too.

This got them all put on a wanted list.

She recruited 3 aliens to the band, and each of them was a member of a different subspecies.

This got them bumped up on the priority on the wanted list.

And her band inspired the creation of many others like it.

The Goner Colonial Government sent fucking hitmen after her.

One of them was accidentally run over by a member of her band with their bicycle, causing their death as this band member accidentally crushed their windpipe during this (and had no idea they were a hitman sent to kill the leader of their band). Another literally tripped on a banana peel and fell into a road right as a truck drove over their head.

The last one, a Polish woman who is canonically the sister of another character in the story who steals and sells alien technology, was actually captured by Adaomo, and was convinced to not only not kill Adaomo, but to become her bodyguard and one of her lovers (every human band member, and if it weren't for the fact that aliens are physically incapable of being attracted to humans she would've been the first human to have an all-sapient multi-species harem) too.

First she gets the 4 other members of her band to join her, pretty easy since the alternative is continuing to live in a slum. Then she gets 3 aliens to join her, okay pretty impressive. Then she turns someone who was paid to kill her into her protective girlfriend - also known as pulling a Fidel Castro (he actually did this as well. Indeed, you too can have a protective assassin who was sent to kill you but changed their mind gf if you only lead a communist revolution and be one of the only communist leaders that even capitalists can't help but admit was pretty fucking cool).

This is what Speech 100 looks like.

Her band, which eventually decided on being called the Ballads About Love, Liberty and Sex (or BALLS), was pretty controversial. Content of the music they make, and the behaviours of a lot of them, especially Adaomo (ie: having multiple lovers of both sexes, and the fact that she was 19 when the youngest of them, aged 17 at the time, became another of her lovers) who became known for being a horny drug addict with neither a filter nor any obvious sense of self preservation, contributed a lot to this.

Over the course of this, she also got her tongue split, lots of tattoos, a robotic finger to replace one that was bitten off by a dog that she tried to pet, and even started wearing face paint during her performances. Her band followed suite, but not to the same degree.

Anyway, she ends up encountering some members of Unit 69 who come to see her perform, and this leads to her getting blown up and dying.

That's all to say she's fucking down bad the moment she sees Inyoni, and down horrendous when she actually speaks to her, although this isn't reciprocated since Inyoni is heterosexual.
