Meeting the Players: Left Knight

Left Knight (a.k.a. Kel (self-given))

In a strange new world where you're forced to kill increasingly inhuman monsters to be able to survive, interspersed with as much slice-of-life-esque downtime as possible, Left Knight favors the relative normalcy. She's, what seems to be, the only one who takes some time to think, and chill out. While she's a bit dense or airheaded at times, L. Knight always wants some freedom from the strict rules King's placed on her, and that dense airheaded joker act hides a surprisingly quick mind. Which also happens to be a bit depressed. Nonetheless, L. Knight is a capable strategist, often dispensing somewhat-helpful advice. She's equally adept at dodging, or literally going with the flow in the face of the matches she's forced to play, and at using her skill with a rapier to have at the creatures she fights. When the leadership of the Players goes a bit soft, incompetent, sadistic, or just flat-out WRONG in L. Knight's eyes, she can take control and win the day. When she's not being opposed by her other Players, of course. L. Knight is also usually the first to realize something's up with what they're doing... and tends to be the first to die when something does inevitably go terribly wrong. Of all the Players, L. Knight is the one who ends up getting bullied the most, though she loves to make the others happy and try to reassure them. She's always looking out for them because she's had the same feeling they've all been having before; hopeless, desperate for a way out, even suicidal. It just so happens that without her memories to tell her /where/ these feelings came from, she's a bit lost... hopeless, desperate, and approaching suicidal. As long as she's got her friends, though, she doesn't mind as much. It's much easier for her to ignore those forgotten feelings in her head when she's got people who'll support her all the way. And those people are getting difficult to find when the Castle's tensions build. L. Knight will make the difficult decisions for everyone else. After all, she is the Queen's guard. If it would risk her self-given objective, L. Knight would rather it risks her... and that tends to get her killed more rather than less.

Physical Description

Body Features

Pale skin, with white hair. A black streak runs through near the center, though she usually parts it to the left. Ties it back in a long ponytail, though some of it is left as bangs over her left eye. Though she won't let anyone see, she has a number of scars on her back, wrists, and ankles. Throughout the loops, she gains remnants of other fatal wounds, like a thin line across her stomach from when she was cut in half.

Physical quirks

Left-handed, often casual with her hands in her pockets or used expressively when she's talking. When forced to, she can be serious, military, and less carefree with her posture.

Special abilities

Besides an almost-unnatural nimbleness, nothing too special.

Apparel & Accessories

Everything the Players own is currently shades of white to dark grey. Casual wear - A white sleeveless hoodie, long-sleeved grey shirt and pants, white laceless sneakers, and a black hair-tie. Game wear - Standard-issue Player military uniform, though she leaves hers unbuttoned and with the collar in disarray, and grey combat boots. Formal wear - A white blazer, dark grey hoodie, white T-shirt underneath these two, grey slacks, grey laceless shoes.

Specialized Equipment

Several custom-built rapiers with their own sheaths, has on multiple occasions used a buckler with a horseshoe design.

Mental characteristics

Sexuality

Though she used to believe she was straight for a while, eventually decided she was gay after she got saved by a certain someone.

Education

All the Players innately know combat. Specifically wields fencing foils/rapiers to great effect, and knows how to deflect hits with a buckler.

Mental Trauma

Besides residual corruption from a Loop? Loves to pretend nothing is wrong, when in fact so many things are going wrong. Gets a feeling of dread from 4. She's also rather scared of King, because he's threatened to kill her multiple times. She tends to be skittish and leave conversations with those she's identified as supporting him very quickly. Does have a history of depression, though you'd never be able to tell from the act she puts on.

Intellectual Characteristics

Has a surprisingly good memory of music and pieces she's never heard before (or, so she remembers). Also a quick thinker, works well under pressure, and can be a very creative strategist.

Morality & Philosophy

Tends to take life's punches, and if something bad happens, suffers quietly. Thinks that she deserves the bad things done to her, though wishes it would change. Places a high importance on her own values, and even her own friends, much higher than herself. Best described as a true neutral, though does tend into neutral good/chaotic neutral/lawful at times.

Taboos

Killing used to be one, up until they have their third game (through any loop) and she nearly dies. Then she stops having quite so many reservations about it. To her, the Players' memories are a big one, mostly because what little she can remember are Not Good.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Wants to escape the Castle, with or without anyone that happened to want to tag along. Desperately wants to avoid dying, especially in the Castle and the weird game the Players have been thrown into.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Good with lying, which has saved her multiple times. Also good with moving fast, defusing conversations that could get a bit problematic (unless they're with King-aligned members of the group), playing the piano, astronomy, being witty, and strategizing.   Rather bad at social interaction as a whole (especially with King-aligned members), making friends, not being the universe's chew-toy, and taking hits.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes stars, constellations, good piano music, not dying, friends, crackpot conspiracy theories, theorizing crackpot theories with L. Bishop.   Dislikes King, getting more scars, being on the Castle, dying (when it happens), the game... anything to do with her situation at large.

Virtues & Personality perks

A confidant, one of the fastest responders to a crisis, witty, humorous, always the optimist/trying to lighten the mood.

Vices & Personality flaws

Secretly believes she's no good to anyone, when the subject of their memories comes up she'd rather not remember, will suffer a mental breakdown if attacked too personally (though she'll never let the attacker see her break down).

Personality Quirks

Loves to tap her fingers on tables or flat surfaces. Never quite stays still whenever the situation calls for it. A fan of sitting in odd positions or places whenever possible.

Social

Contacts & Relations

L. Bishop - closest friend in the Castle, fellow theorist, closest source of trust when things go bad, has offered romantic advice to before.   R. Rook - the brains (along with L. Bishop) for the brawn. He tends to act as her physical bodyguard when tensions in the Castle run high. Also just good friends.   Queen - Bodyguard to, though that has not stopped her from teasing Queen for things. Secretly has a crush on her.   Other Players - On friendly terms, until King-aligned members step up their commitment to him.

Family Ties

Unknown.

Religious Views

While she may curse to God a lot, she's agnostic and hopes that if a God exists, he is merciful to her.

Social Aptitude

Sarcastic, sometimes flirty and mostly witty. Often forgoes the formalities and tends to get on people's nerves with that.

Hobbies & Pets

Once the Piano room is discovered in the Castle, she spends most of her time in it. Besides piano, also theorizes with L. Bishop, inspires minor revolts against authority, and overthinks her life decisions.

Speech

Casual speech. Swears when things go particularly downhill, or she gets bisected by a blade. Often the first to make a lame pun, joke, or sarcastic comment about something.
