Sekora Festival

WE ARE VERY HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE SEKORA FESTIVAL WILL BE HELD AS PLANNED ON THE FIRST OF MONTH 16, THE START OF SUMMER!

Sekora Festival is a large religious observance which takes place every once during each of the four 15-month long seasons on Chellok. It is organized and conducted by priestesses of Vahnism, commonly referred to by the name Saebian priestesses. The festival takes place on the celestial commencement of each Chellokan season.

"We have been uplifted. We have been inspired. All so that we may pay homage to Sekora. This is our tribute to Chellok. When we stare into the eternal flame, when we plant our feet into the soil, we become one with this new world and its mother, Sekora." — Unma Dwen, High Priestess of Saebia.

History

The Vahnist religion was founded in the colony of Saebia following a charismatic movement led by Riawe Dwen. Major failures in Saebia's early population programs which led to a gender disparity of nearly 70% female births. Many Chellokan pilgrims had undergone psychological training in order to view giving birth as a duty of building or populating the young Saebian colony. However, conditions on Chellok and first contact with the Sugran meant that most colonists had a hunger for a new philosophy or way to understand their place in the universe. The logic of Prakyun no longer worked, but Sekora, closer and grander than ever dominated the sky and daily life on Chellok. Vahnist priestesses created Sekora festival to honor and celebrate the planet by whose will we all exist.

Participants

The High Priestess of Saebia rides in a float down the main city road travelling from the Saebian Temple on the banks of the Espian River towards the eastern edge of the city. Sekora Festival is the only time when the sacred stone is worn as an ornamental piece around the High Priestess' neck.
