Silas from a young age has always hated his brother. Riley tried his best not to belittle his (only moments younger) brother but it was hard with the affections that he received from their parents. Their relationship soured as they both aged and Riley almost killed Silas when he first turned, which is what the main incident that resulted in Silas gaining his powers. They stopped talking for a while, and Silas dipped into more illicit activities far beyond what the Pack was currently dealing in and what Riley was trying to dismantle in the wake of their father's death. Silas did warn Riley but his actions resulted in the kidnapping of their young sister, Chloe Tyler. Despite their animosity towards each other, they worked together to save Chloe. Riley abandoned Silas as the police came to the burning building and were arrested. As much as Silas hates his brother, he cannot bring himself to see others have him hurt. He would much rather do it himself.
