Monument

A Monument is a dangerous phenomenon of Ebdypha. From the distance it looks like a sunrise without the sun, but up close it looks like daylight brighter than any normal day. Monuments were formed during the catastrophic events of the Enlightenment and are caused by a fracture in the Firmament that leaks pure divine light from the Monumidium, even during the night. It is so hot and bright that Monuments are vast wastelands scorched by blinding light too powerful for any Domos-bound entity. Monumite forms within Monuments, but is too dangerous to gather from such sites.
However, the Summer Monument is within the outer Unending Dun, which means the Monument comes and goes over time, making the land accessible during the times when the Dun overpowers the light. This is utilised by the Triric Crusaders.
Other known Monuments include the Simabi Monument in the eastern Simabi Dunes, the Baleful Monument between the Masu and Hammig Deserts and the Absitau Highlands, the Canticum Monument in the High Kingdom of Talhudh, the Baccan Monument between the Masara and Estiya Protectorates, the Pearl Monument near the Lunosan Reef, the Darnus Monument in southern Darnus, and the Jeiea Monument in the South Jeiea Seaway.
