Chandris

The country of Western Chandris is flooding with gangs and mobs. With each seeking to displace their competitors, the cities are sinking into chaos. Many of the Chandrissian nobility have abandoned the common-folk. They vie for power and influence through illegal means, exploiting the vulnerable. The Sangiri high court offers no aid to the suffering masses.   Chandrissian citizens aren't the only targets. The prominent mobs have taken to kidnapping and trafficking the Avelines. Their swampland society has no formal government and lacks the resources to aid them. There are more people missing from the settlements every day.   Far from the chaos of city, a young girl struggles with her life in the Avelines' sole city of Astrallis. Her search for freedom brings her to the outskirts of Western Chandris. More opportunity awaits her there than she had ever dared to hope. But she soon finds herself in over her head and embroiled in a secret plot.   Athenais has two choices after she escapes: return home, or help the people she now lives among.
