anapat

Anapest (Wich is desert in Armenian) is a small rodent living in the hottest place in span, Registaan. Registaan is a large piece of land with a dry climate and sand dunes. They are nocturnal animals, sleeping during the day. They can survive on just tiny of water for months without needing to get more. They eat mainly flies and the occasional desert grass with they store in special comets in their mouths incase food runs low. They have fur so they can survive in the cold nights. When Anapats are born, their parents burry them a whole normally by a rock or ledge and then leave them to fend for themselves. They use this whole to sleep in during the day so they stay cooler, and to hide from predators. These rodents can tell when they are close to death from old age. When they are, they lay themselves out in open and stay there until they die, or are eaten. Their predators include red-tailed hawks and rattle snakes. It is easy to avoid these in the day, it's in the night when they struggle most. They have a similar trait to lizards. Their tails come off when they detect to much pressure on them. So if something grabbed it by it's tail, it would detach and run away. The tails grow back again after about a month. The best time and way to catch this creature is by it's middle and during the day.
