Cerellia

Cerellia is a world with an array of islands and cultures, built upon unique societies that thrive in their own ways. Societal divides wrack much of the races that inhabit the world, with many race's presences in the world being the result of a great calamity called "The Great Shift".   The Great Shift brought many trustworthy races into the world, but also brought Fiends, new deities, and strengthened the connections between this world and the other planes. As such, many deem those who travelled into their world as "Outsiders" and hold only scorn for their kinds.   Wars are fought mostly between human nations, but minor battles are not infrequent among other races, typically driven by faction motivations.   The world's large amounts of islands, allows for a setting with a large naval structure, wherein pirates and nations navies vigh for control over the vast ocean. This is also occurring as the introduction of non-magical projectile weapons are just being discovered.   The deities themselves play active roles in the world, and the nations motivations are often driven by their perceived wills. Deity relations, both good and bad, new and old can affect many things, mostly indirectly, but at times, directly.
