The Shards of Heroes
The story of this artifact comes from ancient times on Owhua. However, it really picks up during the Delta clans’ uprising, a group known as the Guardians of Freedom was said to have found a lost artifact that gave them the courage and ability to save their clans from destruction.
This was called the Shards of heroes. It was said to have been a sword from a hero of ancient times that was full of magic. The stories continue to say that the sword had been shattered into several pieces after the hero died by the hero’s word so it would not fall into evil’s hands. The store continues to say that the hero’s family saved several shards of the sword, while the rest were melted down and destroyed. The saved shards were then incorporated into, either a bracelet, necklace, ring, or armlet depending on the story. These stayed with the hero’s family and then disappeared. It was said that these shards still held power and were able to improve the wearer's strength, wisdom, and strategic thinking. When asked those of the original Guardians of Freedom said they didn’t know if they did or not. They do know that the four that were chosen to lead had those abilities, so the rumors continue.
Now recently descendants of the celebrated original leaders of the Guardians of Freedom have come together with pieces of jewelry handed down through their families. A bracelet, necklace, ring, and armlet that the four leaders were always said to be wearing. These four artifacts are made from the same material, which is not found in the delta region of Owhua. It comes from the mountains in the north. The families that hold the jewelry had allowed experts to look at them but each one has a different opinion about them and can not confirm or deny if they are the ‘Shards of Heroes’. Although, they do agree that they are special. The three Delta clans have decided to adopt that they are the ‘Shards of Heroes’. The four families that own them have been given help to keep the artifacts safe. They are only thought to be brought out to the public once a year on the celebration of the day the clans were freed.
