The Nucrana Republic

The Nucrana Republic or NR which is also known to rest of the world as the honest Nucrana. The other republic on Nucrana occasionally calls them the traitor republic. Everyone with in the Nucrana Republic may vote for representatives into the Prime council that meets twice a year in their capital which is Nuorauea. Each town, village and city vote for their represntatives. From the villages there is one. From the towns there is two. The cities range from three to four depending on their size. The ones that can vote are those who are 25 or older. Voting is compulsory and punished by fines. Most are happy to vote, even though there are a few that just pay the fine and don’t vote. There are a few cases where some elves of the NR have lost their right to vote by breaking the laws of the land. Most of those over time get repealed and they can vote again. Once an elf has been voted as a representative in prime council they are in that position for 10 years. They may be voted in three times before they are no longer allowed to be a representative. Every 10 years elections are held all over the NR. Then every 20 years the representatives vote in a Prime or First Nucrana. The Prime Nucrana’s duties are make finale decisions when the Prime council can not reach one. The Prime Nucrana also does a lot of traveling to the other countries to improve trade. A elf can be voted into Prime Nucrana also three times before they are out. So in theory one could spend three terms as a representative then three terms as a Prime. The Nucrana Republic was started 500 years ago when the Uska Republic, which at the time controlled all of Nucrana, betrayed the three elven kingdoms of Efren. Hoping to cause strife between the three elven kingdoms to cause the three to civil war and letting Uska take over. Luckily the three elven kingdoms decided instead to isolate themselves from the world to avoid war. Once the deception was discovered many of the representatives and rich broke away and crated the Nucrana Republic, shattering the power that Uska Republic use to have. The people and representatives of Nucrana Republic have worked very hard to establish ties to the other governments and countries that the Uska Republic destroyed.
