The great Aeqular Slirene cook off

Slirene elves find it very insulting to add anything to a dish after it has been served. They think that the chef or cook knows best. Where in Aeqular they regularly have spices on the table to add to their dishes. Thinking that the consumer of the food knows best.
So the great cook off between Slirene and Aeqular kingdoms was started by a young Aeqular princess. Lyra Perdan Aeqular was at her first tri-kingdom event that was being held in the Slirene royal palace. She was a princess that didn’t always listen to her tutors. Especially when it came to talk about the other kingdoms and their customs.
Lyra was sat next to the princess Alyndra of Slirene during the opening banquet. Things were going fine until the meal was served. Once the dish was placed in front of Lyra she pulled out her spice kit that she always carried and added some to her food. Alyndra sat watching Lyra in shock for a long moment before standing promptly and insulting Lyra, calling her an lickspittle before abruptly leaving the table. This commotion caused Lyra and Alyndra’s parents to turn to see what was happening. Alynadra’s mother went after her to find out why she had called the Aeqular princess a lickspittle. While she did that Lyra’s parents were asking what had happened.
The ensuing argument between the kings and queens almost ended up in a war until the Zakido prince suggested that they do a cook off between the Slirene and Aeqular cooks. That surprised the other royals so much that they agreed that would be better than an expensive and deadly war. It was also agreed that both princesses would apologize and both would be required to spend a year in each other’s lands. The winning chef of the cook off would be the chef for all tri-royal functions for the next 20 years.
