Hands of Balance

Hands of Balance is said to be the hands of the gods Iton and Idona. The gods that helped build and create the Aeqular kingdom. It was made of precious stone and inlaied with many more gems. It had two hands that were interlocked one with another holding a big gem between them.
The legend goes that when the Aeqular kingdom was beginning the first rulers were struggling with trying to even get things started and together. A young couple from the elites went out meeting behind their parents backs, near where the Aeqularis is now located. As they met there the met another older couple. The young couple describe them as beautiful and regal they mistook them for royals of a different kingdom. They started to run fearing that they were to be told to their parents. The old couple instead bid them to come closer. Once they did they talked for a while before the young couple were to head back. This happened several more times. Each time the young couple learned more of nature, leadership skills and general knowledge. Finally on the last time the young couple cried saying that it was the last time they could meet with them or even each other. When asked why they answered that their parents had arranged marriages to different people and they had to go into Meren Anore city to be married. The older couple told the younger to hold out their hands out. They did, meeting the older couple halfway. There was a blinding flash of light then the older couple were gone leaving the Hands of Balance. Confused the younger couple told the air around them thank you before leaving.
As returned home they decided that the young woman would carry the precious gift they had been given. Once home even though they were sadden about their situation they were determined to follow what they had been taught. They went into their arranged marriage meeting holding their heads high. When they were able to finally meet their arrange spouse they were surprised to find each other.
They went on to become the first King and Queen of the Aeqular kingdom. The Hands of Balance was kept at their home until the Temple Aeqularis was built near to the pure lake and place that they met the older couple who they believed to be Iton and Idona.
Hands of Balance was housed at the temple until it was raided by thieves several years after the first King and Queen had died. They made off with many temple treasurers. The thieves were caught not long after under mysterious circumstances but what they stole was never recovered. The there is now tales that they hid it before being caught. There is also the thought that Iton and Idona stopped them and took their gift back.
