Gleaming Teal Abyss

Gleaming Teal Abyss is a large partly explored ocean. It is ringed by a line of islands. Part of the reason it has not been well explored is just beyond the islands the seas are very turbulent and in one area it is filled with unexpected whirlpools. This line of islands starts far off the southeast coast of Efren. This is where all the whirlpools are. The ring continues down along the eastern coast of Lafliuton. The island then stretches towards the western coast of Owhua. The island Marked Sly which is off the southwest coast of Owhua is a part of this island ring. This is the only island of the ring that can be seen in the southwest of Owhua. The lack of visibility in this area is due to the thick cloud cover that covers the area most of the year. The ring continues up and is far off the western coast of Nucrana. The most visible and calmest waters are next to Nucrana and the southeastern coast of Lafliuton. The few explorers that have ventured into the Gleaming Teal Abyss have done so from these locations. They have sailed past the islands and made it through the turbulent waters. The first found a beautiful gleaming teal glass-like stretch of ocean hence the name. One explorer found that under the turbulent seas was the world’s largest river. It was a river with a denser mineral dissolved in it. This is coupled with the mix of the two different seas, the rocky seabed makes the waters flow weird. The explorers are unsure how this mix causes the turbulent waters. It has been hypothesized that the whirlpools are the start of the river. Another phenomenon that occurs around the Gleaming Teal Abyss is the thick cloud cover that is along the southwest of Owhua. Many talk of exploring all the way around the islands but none have done so as of yet.
