Gallows' Treat

Also known as "Hangman's Hook" or "Lungbuster Goulash", Gallow's Treat is a highly poisonous delicacy, created by the Agsimer, which is commonly served within City-States that are heavily influenced by the teachings of the Haeblash Cult.
It is made from the flesh and innards of numerous different species of highly poisonous fishes, whose toxins primarily target the respiratory system of a potential predator and usually cause a respiratory arrest within five to ten minutes after the ingestion of the dish.
While the prospect of a painful death via asphyxiation would usually be more than enough to discourage anyone from even thinking about creating such a dish, to the Agsimer the highly poisonous nature of the dish is regarded as an acceptable inconvenience, as they are simply able to replace their paralyzed lung with a fresh one.
Regardless of this, even the Agsimer don't regularly consume this dish, due to the simple fact that most are unwilling to sacrifice a good lung for their gustatory pleasure and instead wait until their affliction has degraded their lung to such a degree that they have to replace it anyway, irrespective of a food-induced lung paralysis.

Manufacturing process

It is rare that you can feel the aftertaste of a dish crawling along the branches of your lung.

While the exact manner in which the dish is prepared varies between each City-State, the careful separation and individual preparation of the various poisonous fish parts usually plays a very important role.
The reason for this is, that if done correctly this variegated treatment allows a talented chef to accurately control the rate at which the toxins begin to affect the gourmets' lung, which in turn lengthens the client's enjoyment of these dish's taste before he is forced to evict his lung from his chest.

Raw materials & Components

Primary ingredients are the poisonous skin, meat and, innards of numerous species of globefish and viper sharks.
Addition of further types of meat, vegetables, and spices according to local traditions and personal preferences.

One man's poison

While the Agsimer are certainly the main consumer of this dish, it also popular among the Yinmoujia.
But due to their immunity to the dish's poisons, their gustatory experience is rather stale in comparison to that of the Agsimer.
