Great article! I love your header picture :D And with that first quote, that really feels ominous :D " For there are few things that better deter an overambitious cult member from toppling his superiors than to create a marvelous organic dress from the still-living and fully conscious body of the last fool that attempted to do exactly that." XD If that isn't a win-win situation I don't know what is." XD I really love the tone in which you've written the article :D I'm wondering about the thickness of the dress, or if it's 3D or something like that, since it must be able to incorporate not-flattened lungs and torture device. I'm guessing the arms and legs are sticking out from the cloth? " I don't suffer fools...I wear them." XD nice :D I love how the dresses are used not only to inspire terror but also to display people fashion taste, creativity and wealth, people are really using them to their fullest XD " the number of fools within the ranks of the Cult has rather unsurprisingly gone down significantly." Yes, that is rather "surprising" :p " many of the older dresses are still kicking and screaming." The use of this expression here is just perfect XD How does everyone else in the society (those not member of the same religious cult) react to those dresses?
Hey, AmélieIS great to hear that you enjoyed reading the article :D As for the appearance of the dress, while it is still far more 3D than a regular dress, the Cult members are very good at twisting and reconfiguring the physical shapes of their victims to better suit their artistic vision. So for example victim's lungs might be replaced by a pair of hair-like external gills that are intertwined with dozen of salivating tongues in order to remain wet enough to be able to breathe, which in turn allows the dress to be far flatter than it has any right to be. In short, when it comes to the appearance of an individual dress, the sky truly is the limit and if you can think of it there is probably a Cultist out there wearing it. With stuff like this, it is not hard to imagine that the Cult is highly polarising within the society of the Agsimer...the thing is the Cult (+ its sympathizer) makes up a good half of the species' total population so many Agsimer wholeheartedly agree with the usage of Fool's Dresses and also find them highly fashionable. Yet there are also the so-called "Purists", which loath the Cult and all its practices with a fanatical zeal and therefore recently started the so-called War of Purity in order completely eradicate the Cult once and for all.
Wow this was truly a horrifying piece of clothing! All the more because they are immortal and have to live like that for eternity. By adding all those additional ways that the Haeblash torture the fool makes them all the more completly vile :o Great article, but I am slightly uncomfortable now! xp
Thank you and I hope you are feeling better now :D
'Surgical artwork' is not an artform I wish to see take off. :D For some reason it didn't occur to me that the poor fools that made up the dresses would still be alive. I don't know why - this is Cenorad after all. Amazingly horrifying, as always. <3
I think when I first had the idea for the Fool's dress the "components" actually weren't alive but then I realized that it then would just be the Cult's regular fashion and hardly a deterrent so yeah - this truly is Cenorad after all >:D
It's really not for squeamish people :)
It most certainly is not :D
Well, that is completely gross but also a really creative concept so good job! And so much of it is so well thought out, from the process behind it to how it's a punishment, just really well put together. I'm gonna go find pictures of fluffy kittens now and detox my brain.
Thank you :D Also, I hope you fund some extra fluffy kittens for your brain ^_^
Yikes! Okay, these sound terrifying. o_O That Cult is scary as hell.
Yeah, the Haeblash Cult certainly is one of the scariest factions in Cenorad...so far :D
What a terrifyingly great outfit! I can certainly see why there are less fools after reading this. What a sick and twisted thing, for these cultists to use someone else’s suffering to show their creativity. It’s lovely, certainly fitting for a cult!
Great to hear that you liked the article :D
My, my! Is this the latest fashion? I must keep with the times! Perfectly horrid article! It seems like you're a master of making me feel squeamish. The whole idea of the dress is obnoxious, to begin with. I mean, just look at the ingredients - "three persons worth of teeth"... WHY?? It's such a great analogy to how fashion trends can go beyond what is considered 'sane' or 'decent'. And as always, I love the way you write the horror, always with being glib about it. Wonderful stuff!
Hey rikia thank you very much for the kind words :D Also when it comes to the "WHY??" in Cenorad the answer is generally "WHY NOT" and that ingredient list, in particular, was just me listing of the most horrible things I could off at the moment ^^
ew. You do a great job of evoking horror, and your articles are somehow always more terrifying than I've imagined. This is one article for which I'm glad not to have a visual :) Your writing is evocative, and I do really like your Hepara quotes, as well as your imaginative, if gross, ingredient list. Good job!
Thank you I am very happy to hear that :D Regarding the lack of a visual, this, funnily enough, was actually one of the reasons why I decided to write this article, in order to cover for my lack of drawing skills, as if no one actually wants to see the dress I don't have to try (and fail) to draw it ^_^
I mean, there was no way I *wasn't* clicking the like button after that opening cover image. But then you went ahead and totally sold me on this with this paragraph here: "For there are few things that better deter an overambitious cult member from toppling his superiors than to create a marvelous organic dress from the still-living and fully conscious body of the last fool that attempted to do exactly that." Great work, overall!
"the removal, rearrangement, and addition of further organs to the fool's body, in order to turn the torturous vision of the dressmaker into fleshly reality." Ahhhhhh, this is so good!
Happy to hear that :D

I will admit this is one of those articles where I actually feel guilty clicking the like button because of the sheer horror of the article itself. Ha! Very well written, and oh my what a horrifying existence for the poor fools. I can see why these are a highly effective deterrent. What deliciously horrific worldbuilding.
Necromancy is a Wholesome Science.
Yeah, whenever I write something related to the Haeblash Cult things tend to get dark very quickly...maybe we need a special button for such articles :p
