But are they edible?

You can eat anything at least once, so go right ahead :D

You put a lot of thought into this one, and it really shows. They feel very alien, but it also feels like you thought of so much about them to help make them feel that way, and I am wondering if this was a difficult one to conceptualize for you. They're very well done.   ...I also giggled at the family road trip thought...

Happy to hear that you like these little Lovecraftian horrors. And yes At-Krovian road trips are...interesting to say the least.   As far as I can remember it didn't take me that long to form the basic concept for this species, as they are essentially just "Dryads" whose bodies are composed of seafood instead of bark and leaves.   This connection is presumably far easier to make in German than in English as the German word for seafood translates to "ocean's fruits" or "fruits of the sea", but I have to add that my mind sometimes works in rather strange ways and has a tendency to find the most obscure and bizarre connections and associations.

That's still really cool, and I like them.
