Champion of the Arendish Throne
Physical Description
A season warrior of many battlefields, Throk gives the impression of a lounging predator, moving gracefully but with steel behind his movements. Unlike many Half-Orcs, Throk is not massively muscled, instead he is rather lean, giving him an almost elven cast to his appearance.
Throk's features are dominated by his half-orc characteristics, his tusks and heavy brow. One of tusks is chipped and the tip broken off.

Mental characteristics
Throk was born to the Björn Sonyr Tribe in the far north. From a young age he made a name for himself for his martial prowess. Shortly after his Naming, Throk headed south, armed with only his paring knife and a ice boar's tusk. Throk eventually found himself in the companionship of a young questing knight, a hedge necromancer and a few other young adventurers. Together they faced many perils, but Throk parted ways from the band before their famous journey into the Sorcerer's Tower. Throk instead made his way to the Free City of Syrica, where he formed his own band of mercenaries, The Unbroken Chain. His company quickly established a reputation of honor and abilty, the former rare in the mercantile city. After several years, a fellow clan member appear at his compound, demanding to speak with him. A heated discussion was had, lasting most of the night, before Throk and his clanmate set off without warning early the next morning. He slowly journeyed his way back north, though countless towns and villages, across the inner sea, through the great Estweld, until he reached the vastness of the Northern Bleakness. He reached his clan's steadings, just south of the Everice. He spent several days in isolation with the clan shaman's, undergoing sacred rituals. On the eighth day, he arose and returned back to the steading, Oathforged clasped in his fist. He once more journey south, back across the world to Syrica, and his mercenary company there.
Years later, when Laron ascended to the Throne of Arendia, he sent a missive to Throk, requesting he come and serve as Laron's Champion. Throk refused the royal summons. Twice more Laron requested Throk to attend him, and twice more Throk refused. Laron made a visit to the nearby city of Olstair, where he met with Throk. What was said in that meeting is unknown, but whatever Laron promised proved enough for Throk to step down from the The Unbroken Chain, and take his place as Champion of the Arendish Throne.
Unlike many others in the court, Throk is famously honest and blunt. He does not disguise his dislike of manipulative aristrocrats, preferring to spend his spare time in the company the mercenaries that accompanied him to Arendia.

History
Throk and Laron first met when Laron was an unknown adventurer, attempting to clear an abandoned castle from the goblin tribe that had seized it. Laron was very impressed by Throk's skill at arms, easily fighting his way through the goblin horde. Throk joined Laron on his adventurers until he left one day, unhappy with where his life was leading, wishing for something more.

The Champion of the Arendish Throne is a honor given by the King to a warrior of skill and honor. Traditionally, the Champion stands in for the King for any Duel of Honor, however as this practice has fallen out of favour, the Champion of the Throne is the monarch's chief bodyguard, sanctioned to arrest anyone in pursuit of this goal.
