Fairy Naming Tradition
"What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
Fairies strongly believe that there is power in the name, but they also believe that a person makes their own destiny- they are their own source of power in their lives. Because of this, they have a long-standing tradition of letting their children pick their own names. When a fairy picks their name, they are considered to have 'come to age' and are then inducted as a citizen to the fairy kingdom. They receive all the rights of adulthood.
