Feya Entheas
Structure
It’s society is, in theory, harsh but fair. It is said that the best and brightest will rise up and dominate the upper class, with the council one step above that. Said council, democratically appointed, hand-picks those individuals, bestowing them the title of Magister (for scientists), Centurion (for soldiers) or Opifex (for artists). This group is collectively reffered to as the Magnus. It is the goal of every Feyan to either become a Magnus, or a council member. This system, however, is very prone to corruption. A Magister, Centurion or Opifex’ vote counts more than a normal citizen’s vote. The current Feyan south, with ties to the indigenous inhabitants, if getting more and more fed up with this. Some believe the political and societal climate of Feya Entheas is about to change…
History
The country was established after the calamity. Many fleeing from the disasterous magics ravaging everything too close to Zalon found refuge in the idillic flora and fauna of Feya, touched by the feywild. It’s indigenous people were all too content to let nature run it’s course, but the refugees manifested destiny and brought society to the continent. Those that resisted this change fled to the south, where their people remain to this day.
Those willing to change, however, and those fleeing the calamity vowed to become a world power; a country of the best and brightest. The idealists’ vision was realized, for early Feyan citizens saw merit in hard work and dedication. As time went on, however, the beauty of the feywild started to influence the Feyan way of thinking. This was only furthered by the discovery of Tiberium, the synthesis of which could only be done with Feyan plants. Tiberium is a highly resonant, crystaline material with a high affinity for magic and enchantment. Feyan society, however, was only interrested in one of it’s properties: it can power engines. And so, an industrial revolution started.
Feya Entheas was the first of it’s kind in many other regards as well. It was (and still is) the only true democracy in Oaren; seeing that as the best form of governement. It was also the first nation to ban the use of arcane and divine magic openly within cities and towns. Feya Entheas is still a young nation, however, and much of it’s history will still be made
Religion
The Feyan pantheon, known as the olympian pantheon, is rich and storied, containing many different gods, goddesses, creatures and fables. None truly know the origin of it’s worship, but it’s influence is undeniable. Worship of these gods is done at specific temples and sites, designated and designed by the Feyan people. Since every god has it’s own special rules for worship, they are too numerous to detail here. Worship of other gods is, at best, frowned upon and at worst a criminal offense
