The Invasion of the Ballans

A folly of a war, a person with any sense would not even call it such. The great empire of Okan, made effort to attack the neighboring Ballans of the south. Not merely the broader Balesh and Balfe, but also, foolishly there was an attempt made to claim the land of the black lake. Perhaps it was a misscommunication upon a grand scale, if it was, then it is surely the most deadly misspeak of all time. The Ballans (a collection of ragtag nations of goblin rule) exist as a no-mans land almost between Okan, the Black lake, and the western provinces of Castordia. Invading the black lake was the greatest of mistakes, as it is a place where all things die. Battalion after battalion were sent souht toward the lake, never to return. There was no battle, no combat, only death as the lake claimed the lives of thousands. It was reported as a challenging front, with generals covering their tracks. Like fighting Russia in the winter, or charging into a valley of cannons, an attempt at war on the Black lake is certain death, and a devastating drain on resources. No attempt has been made upon the lake since.

The Conflict

Deployment

There were multiple deployments made across the ballans, it was a war fought by numbers. Solve a problem by throwing more men into it. However, facing the Black lake, is a problem that cannot be solved, no matter how many men are thrown at it. All resources were drained toward the black lake, but most never made it anywhere close.
